Ionic extreme overestimation of steps

On 13/6 my fitbit showd a total of 49295 steps within 1.99km. Yesterday it showed 100246 step!! What is happening? Such a big overestimation. I noticed this problem to hv occured since 2017 according to this community group. I am shocked it has not been resolved.

Hi this happened with me too (under warranty) and eventually got a refurbed replacement - tool a lot of hassle to do this!!

@rcic04 Thanks for the details shared in your post. I understand how you are feeling and recommend confirming if you have MobileTrack paired to your Fitbit account. MobileTrack lets you use the Fitbit app without a Fitbit device by using your phone's sensors to track basic activity data including steps, distance, and calories burned. For more information, see How do I use Fitbit MobileTrack? MobileTrack may add extra steps and I recommend removing it from your Fitbit account if you're not using it: How do I remove a Fitbit device from my account?
