I read online that the floor count is supposed to be every 10 feet gained. I've found that for my building, which has at least 15 feet between floors, I have to go up 2 to 3 flights of stairs before the Ionic will count a single floor. I've seen several other posts about counting too many floors, but not many about too few floors (as opposed to just not counting floors at all). Is anyone else having this experience?
Troubleshooting done so far: The device has been rebooted several times, it's running the latest firmware as of 2/23, and I've made sure that no clothing is covering it.

Are you holding on to anything? Stopping in between? Both of these will effect your results

I have a similar climb as you and have seen the ionic miss floor counts. What I noticed today was that the tracker was more likely to miss if I ran up the stairs, two steps at a time. Walking back down and then up slower would then count.

@DrewJThere are other variables to consider. Because the floor measuring is using an altimeter as you have tested.. air pressures moving around a building can affect the results.
You may not have the problem, but other users have seen errors moving from an air conditioned building into a stair well.. Also moving from a controlled atmosphere laboratory into a connecting passage or office. The high floor totals are cause by atmospheric changes and especially when we walk in a windy environment..
There can also be a delay factor if you pause on a landing and the altimeter can reset. and you start again.
There is the serious but funny side of the floor measuring.. Years ago we had Fitbitters posting that they were crouching at the bottom of the stairs with their waists as close to the floor as possible (in the days of non HR Fitbits), rapidly going up the stairs and jumping at the end to get the Fitbit as high as possible.. Even holding the Fitbit in their raised arm...
Even keen "testers", walking around a lift going up a few floors...
That test would be a great deal easier with the Ionic.
A passing thought with my Ionic.. I have no trouble recording my floors on the escalators at the shopping malls provided I keep moving and walking up our long 12' gradient to the top of our court..
This is a little long winded, but in the early days it was "fun" just trying to get these "new features" to record..... Enjoy your Ionic as I am...

Counting stairs is never accurate for Ionic, Blaze, etc.
I just climb 5 floors today with stopping... Stair count = ZERO.
I don't really use the stair counter anymore.
It just does not work.

That's without stopping...
