As soon as i reach a hill out walking my ionic fails to read the correct heart rate, instead of going up it shows about 100bpm, i climb four long hills on my route and this device does not record any of them accurately, it makes it completely useless to me, i have reset it and tried other things suggested with no success, every fitbit i have had has had major issues so i think it may be time to move on to another brand.

Hi @Julian77, welcome to the Community Forums.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting over here, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. Heart-rate tracking can be affected by several factors including air temperature and device location on your arm. For more information about this, please check our help articles:
However, if your heart-rate tracker seems inaccurate after taking the recommendations into account, please reply with answers to the following questions so I can further investigate:
I'll be waiting for your reply if further assistance is needed.

Question; when you get to your hills, do you swing your arms more vigorously? I ask because I've noticed when I hit segments of walks, runs, or hikes, if I don't have the band of my Ionic cinched down snug, the tracker will move around on my wrist and mess up the BPM readings.
