I just bought a new Ionic last week, while on a trip to the US.
Initially it was not showing the heart rate but after resetting the device (as recommended) it worked fine (I did not check the accuracy of the readings though).
In any case, I wore it while sleeping last night and when I woke up it was showing the heart rate just fine.
After I took it off to recharge and put it back after some minutes, the heart rate reading stopped working and I have already tried all that is said to work (reset, shut it down, sync, etc) and the heart rate still does not show.
I chatted with the users support but the support person, while attentive and willing to help, could not solve the issue.
Has anyone had this issue before and, if so, how was it solved?
I just hope I do not have to replace the device.
Thanks.

I can not get my fit bit ionic to record my heart rate. It did record it when I first got it but has since stopped! I have tried resetting with no results!
Very frustrating.
I aslo have been finding it is not giving me texts that are coming in either!

I have been having trouble with inaccurate heart rates with my Ionic(s) (yes, more than one) since the beginning of the summer. I have tried everything that support has suggested with very limited success. When I read GeorgeIonic's comment that the watch face could be the issue I thought that his idea had merit and is something easy to try.
I did a test today with the ARC watch face, and my heart rate was spot on. I then tried another watch face, hearty, and except for one slight drop (12 bpm) the heart rate was a little more noisy, but very close. The comparater was a wahoo arm band and a phone app.
Thank you George!! Are there other faces that worked for you?
I hope others give this a try.
Mike

My Pulse monitor stopped working yesterday afternoon. I didn't notice till this morning when during my workout it was greyed out... I didn't pay much attention to it and thought it was just having a problem reading my pulse (as it sometimes does), but after my workout - no pulse again. I shutdown and restarted, without success. I then opted for a factory reset - which was successful I guess, cause it became a brick and would not start up again. Fitbit Customer Support call and was appreciative to my situation and tried to be helpful, but nothing worked. it ended up that it was still under warranty (although, I do think I had it over a year now... but, it was a gift, so couldn't tell), so they're sending a new one - already set up and confirmed!
I like their devices, and I find their interface is getting better and better all the time, but you can never tell with electronics... maybe at some point I'll take it for granted my heart is still going, and I'm still walking and just use a regular watch and track my workouts on my phone. lol... Stay safe and healthy all!
