Ionic heart rate switches off

I have had the Ionic for a couple of weeks. I am having lots of issues with the HR monitor deciding to switch off. I have a method that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

  • turn off HR in settings
  • turn off ionic
  • turn on HR in settings

The syncing is also poor on the Note 8, sometimes its fine then I will look at the app and see it hasn't sync'd for days. I have seen a few people mention HR problems, have i managed to get a bad one? I'm considering sending it back and getting a Apple watch or Samsung gear to replace this!

An answer of factory reset etc isn't good enough from admins I have tried this a few times and its still playing up!

@blankmediams Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for sharing that workaround and for trying some troubleshooting steps in order to better this function. Are you still experiencing this?

Does the heart rate sensor switches off while the Ionic is on your wrist? Have you tried a regular restart on your Ionic? This should help you out for sure.

Also, if you keep experiencing those kind of syncing situations, I'd recommend trying these syncing troubleshooting steps in order to get that sorted. You can sync manually as well, try the following:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon.
  2. Tap your device tile.
  3. Tap the arrows next to "Sync Now".

Try that out and let me know how it goes!

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy
