Fitbit is dodging trying to replace this Ionic, first it stopped registering steps, ten restarts a day, 5 complete factory resets. Apps not working, No end to issues. So far the techs are friendly and kind, but what do you have to do to get Fitbit to honor their warranty? I bought from them because they stand behind what they sell. Not anymore! I want a replacement. It is now not registering sleep, so far everything that can go wrong has gone wrong, again, no steps registered in my house, not without greatly exaggerated movements. Come on Fit Bit lets make good on this. I need a person that is not a foreigner to speak to, as I am partially deaf. This is just not worth forking out every penny I had for this.

@Carmylita on a serious note, I think you need to be a little pushy and tell them:
- I've spent a lot of time trying all your suggestions
- still having problems
- this Ionic appears to have hardware problems
- I want you to replace this Ionic
If they push back, ask to talk with a manager.

Interesting. I just bought mine Saturday...i bought the Garmin Vivoactive HR too but the black friday sale which doesn't quite meet my standards coming from the Surge last. But after 2 days i have already made my decision the Ionic is going back. Worthless if it won't sync anymore with my tablet. And i shouldn't have to waste my time doing all that garbage they had you do 😣

I bought my Ionic 29 days ago. From moment 1 I had sync issues, battery life issues, and notification issues. I am a believer in "benefit of the doubt and troubleshooting". There comes a time when you say "no more'. I can't spend the time calling every time I have an issue. I need the thing to work. My recent issue was with battery, sync and notifications. Tech support believed we resolved sync and notifications and gave me specific instructions on what to do regarding battery issues. (basically charge it 100%, turn on auto sync, but manually sync in 5 times/day until the battery dies.) I began that process today. Manual sync failed on the first try. called them, they troubleshot, and then notifications stopped working. I think the product needs work

Ok, I think it is worth noting. The place I bought mine is totally willing to swap my lemon out. I think that is good progress

Ick! After being on my 3rd Surge I thought I was through. All free replacements after the defective 1st one. I only got the Ionic because they were on sale. I realized having to press a button everytime i wanted to see the time also adds to the list of failures for this new product. They can try to fix the bugs on someone elses dime. I will keep my new Garmin. Hope it works out for you.

fitbit will honor the warranty, you don't have to worry about that. I think their first step as with any retailer is to help you solve the problem so you can keep your tracker. if everything they have recommended has failed, they will send you a new one or honor their return policy. You just have to specifically ask for what you would like them to do. I hope whatever you decide, it all works out for you. Happy New Year!

I think it is important to circle back and speak about my progress. I was able to replace mine. when I had issues with the replacement, I learned that all my issues boiled down to my android (older version) not being compatible with the Ionic. I upgraded to a new phone (I was due) and I have no issues, whatsoever. Love my Ionic
