Planned a big series of training to burn high calories this morning up at 5:30 AM.
On the third workout I look down and my Fitbit Ionic has aborted the exercise and put me to the home screen. (a black screen with teal dots).
So I connected it to the app. App says ' touch here for update '.
So I update.
OMG 1 hour + my Ionic is completely unusable while it updates. So I had to continue my training for 2 hours 'watchless' with no tracking.
I resume with the Ionic. It's doing that weird thing where it intermittently loses my heart rate and puts dashes, then after 10 seconds detects my heart rate again.
I shook the watch around to make it detect my heart rate and accidentally hit 'pause' messing up that workouts results.
I've gently wiped the watch / back or watch. My arm has a 'bald patch' shaved down to try to give this watch ' baby smooth skin ' to detect from.
Why is this Ionic acting like it's lost it's brain ? Bad day? It's worked for months , seen the dashes before but seems worse today.
Please give people real advice to, like..... clean / shave your arm, clean the sensors. Not the usual crap like ' reset your watch ' or call this 800 number......
Frustrating!

@Regnan Welcome to the Community. Thanks a lot for sharing detailed information about what you experiencing with your Ionic.
I totally understand how you felt working out without your Ionic. At the moment, while you're updating your watch, you'll be unable to use it.
I would like you to make sure you've updated your watch following the instructions on this article. Also, please confirm you have the latest firmware version which is 27.70.7.27.
Once your watch has been updated to the latest version, please follow these tips to improve the accuracy of your heart-rate reading. Also, please check the factors that can affect your heart-rate reading on your Fitbit device.
Let me know the outcome.

Thanks for the feedback.
Turns out my Fitbit Ionic was too tight on my wrist! Loosening it by one notch fixed the heart rate 'dashes --' that I was seeing.
So anyone out there having that -- heart rate problem, losen your watch by 1 notch - 🙂
I amend my first comment really to just say pls put a warning ' this update my take 60+ minutes ' then people will likely do the update at bedtime....
