My ionic completely died and I have tried to charge it for a few days now through that USB on my computer and in the wall with no luck. According to the app it says my battery is completely dead and phone will not connect to it. I have cleaned the cable and connections but the charger works for my wifes, so I know its the watch. I'm not sure what else to do? I've tried to restart it holding the buttons with no luck? Can someone please help?

So I am actually fuming! My watch bought to me by my brother for a present in 2018 died, as I live in Europe I had a two year warranty on it. It got replaced and that one lasted less than 6 months. I spoke to some and I was offered a second replacement or 50 percent off. As I left it a while to take the offer I spoke to Fitbit and they told me there is nothing they can do. I spent £249.99 for a watch that I used less than a year (collectively). I don’t want a discount code or a refund I just want a watch that works. I don’t understand why Fitbit doesn’t acknowledge that their is something wrong with the ionic and do what any reputable company would. I have a watch that the green lights comes on at the bottom, but nothing works. I now have been offered 25 percent of another Fitbit product but I don’t want to invest in a company that doesn’t know the meaning of customer service. I not asking for much I am asking for what I paid for in the first place.
any advice on what to do next would be appreciated, I miss my ionic.
a very disappointed Fitbit customer.

That is what I plan to do I just feel robbed out of so much money for a watch that worked for less than it was warranted. It’s a real shame that the company doesn’t seem to really care. I just wished they would be transparent and just say it’s something to do with the software do a recall and be done with it.

Yep, plan to buy a different brand of tracker. Like features on the Ionic but having spent £500 on 2 devices and seeing the feedback from other customers will not buy again.

I am having the same issue. Got mine in December 2018, on Saturday it died at 40% battery and won’t turn on. I have had it plugged in and attempting to charge since then. I have cleaned the charging port and prongs, held the left and bottom right buttons, and held all 3 buttons down. Still nothing. I Called customer support and since I am 4 months out of the 1 year warranty, 25% discount is it. I asked if this has been a popular problem with the ionic watches, and of course they said no.
I just want it to work again. Don’t want to have to buy a new one. So frustrating.

Still waiting from Feedback from customer support. In total I have had 4 Fitbit devices. 2 x Surge & 2 x Ionic.
Mine had been on charge and was at 100% then suddenly died when I put back on wrist. No pre-warning this time.
will never buy another Fitbit again. Looking at the reviews for all devices it would appear that none are reliable.
could this be an in-built failure to get people to replace just after a year?
May change my decision if they bring out a tracker that is repairable and batteries can be replaced. The lack of stores is also a real issue

It is a bit funny to see, how many users started to complaint on "dead" Ionic recently.. Mine dead as well for a week.. Could this be related to latest software updates (just thinking)? Another funny thing, that with such amount of complaints on web simply hesitate to acknowledge any issue(s) with this device and just using strategy "**ahem** happens", so go & buy another one?

I asked them exactly the same thing how many people have been contacting them with the same issue? The assistant said they haven’t had any issues if it was an on going issue they would have investigated. All lies since the forum is full off people who all seem to be having the same issues. How can a company get away with this? Hiding behind their warranty when their technology expires prematurely. I am going to write to the head of customer service and see what he has to say about this diabolical treatment of customer. I don’t even want a refund or a new watch I just want mine fixed. I’ll let you know what he has to say.

Battery was rapidly draining...it’s not completely dead and won’t power on. I contacted support and they are replacing fully! I would have been pissed if they were only giving me some crappy 25% off

Since my post was removed for a “possibility” stated I decided to repost with that sentence removed.
I find it strange that so many people have the same issue and still the responses are the same ie. 50 or 25% discount on a new watch or we have forwarded your issue to our team. Never a response to the update that seems to be the problem. Fitbit has the corner market on fitness tracking and they know it. But the catch here is that many more people are jumping ship to another brand because of the slow or no response. Blaming slow response to covid-19 doesn’t cut it in my book when lots of businesses are working from home. My ionic is out of warranty but to me it’s no different than a dealership doing a recall on your vehicle and now it’s dead. I am not one to immediately jump ship before a response has been given to my email but I’m getting close.

Yep! I used the money from my credit card warranty extension to buy a Galaxy Active Watch. At the time it cost the same (~$200) as my Ionic and it is really much more capable as a smart watch AND fitness watch. I see it is on sale for ~ $125 now.
