My ionic completely died and I have tried to charge it for a few days now through that USB on my computer and in the wall with no luck. According to the app it says my battery is completely dead and phone will not connect to it. I have cleaned the cable and connections but the charger works for my wifes, so I know its the watch. I'm not sure what else to do? I've tried to restart it holding the buttons with no luck? Can someone please help?

My Father's fitbit died last night and will not charge. It's been on charge for 9 hours and nothing. It's a few months out of warranty and they offer me a 25% discount on a new one. I don't think so. Written a complaint.

Well, I have received their support response with some tips available on community forums and web (basically all of them I have already tested prior contacting their team). It took probably week to respond,
all we know COVID19 situation around the globe, and it's really strange how slow they are dealing with this.. Personally, I working as well on global telco company, and such slow responding would be intolerable to either our clients or management..
Anyway, this is their policies. But again, it's quite funny to see such amounts of complaints on web and even their community forums, with no acknowledgement from Fitbit representatives. It's a pity that such device premium build quality/materials, easy UI and all the tools for amateurs or semi-pros athletes failing with this issue.. which based on multiple comments could be related to some battery or even soft malfunction and resulting in overall limited device life-time..

I have never let either of my 2 Ionic go completely flat and they have both died with over 50% charge.
There is an underlying flaw in the design of this product

I have the same issue. I tried all of the suggested remedies that have been posted, but the battery will not hold a charge. Very disappointing.

EXPLANATION: when the Iconic watch is new, the magnetic connector fits firmly and charges immediately without hesitation as soon as the magnets are joined to the Ionic watch. But after months of use, a direct response like this is weakened, but only just a bit. When this happens, you will find that the connection takes a slight feel and touch and repositioning several times before the watch can charge. The cause is the wear on the electrodes on the back of the watch over time, which makes it hard to find a charging position for the magnets when the battery is dead. No matter how much you fiddle, trying to do a fiddle-connect with a dead battery is utterly impossible. Normally, the watch face tells you when it is charging. Whereas, without that information available, making a connection is hit-and-miss. The culprit is wear and tear. This is one reason to take a toothpick and run it around the cavity for cleaning each time of charging.
THE CHARGING SOLUTION: When the Iconic battery dies, you will need something that has an indicator light that lets you know the watch is properly charging while fiddling around with the connector. So that as you adjust the magnets for a response, the indicator charging light will stay on, letting you know when you have a good, solid charging response. I have an external battery that works great for this. When plugging something into it, the lights go on when a good connection is made. You may find a USB wall plug that has this kind of indicator light. Expect more wear and tear in the future. The more you must move the magnets around on the back of the watch for charging, wear will worsen over the years.

Dear Deluded,
Go cry somewhere else, my Fitbit works fine now, try not letting battery
die. Have a lovely day and life, thank you not, for being part of the
problem, not the solution.

I HAVE A SOLUTION!
All you need to do is perform a hard reset of the Fitbit, you WILL NOT LOSE ANY DATA.
You can perform a hard reset by holding down all 3 buttons on the Fitbit for about 10 to 15 seconds
This video goes into more detail on how to do it.
