My ionic completely died and I have tried to charge it for a few days now through that USB on my computer and in the wall with no luck. According to the app it says my battery is completely dead and phone will not connect to it. I have cleaned the cable and connections but the charger works for my wifes, so I know its the watch. I'm not sure what else to do? I've tried to restart it holding the buttons with no luck? Can someone please help?

"It just says 0% when I press left button."
Maybe you need to do the following step 1st. to get to no display state.

I eventually plugged my dead ionic into my computer that it is synced with
and it charged and came back to life. No issues since then, but I don't
let it die either.

Thanks for sharing a success story. What were the symptom and actions before you eventually brought your Ironic alive?

My ionic was completely discharged and I could not bring it back to life
with its charger cord plugged into a wall outlet or to my work computer. I
was only successful when I plugged it into my own computer when it came
back on. It is synced to and this computer and the computer has the FitBit
app on it.

I am having this same problem

The solution worked for me. After my Ionic completely drained on a run, the charging icon on the watch would not come on when I plugged it in. As suggested, I left it plugged in for an hour or so, but it still wouldnt come on. I then pressed all 3 buttons at the same time and after 6-7 seconds, the Fitbit symbol appeared. I then released all 3 buttons and the watch fully booted up. Further, it showed it was now 55% charged! It had actually been charging the whole time, but the watch face had not turned on to reflect that. The watch is now back to normal and working well.

Same problem, but was able to fix with a trick.
Had not used Fitbit Ionic for 3 weeks and battery totally drained. Fitbit would not respond to anything.
How I fixed mine:
1) Connect it to power and charge for at least 1 hour. (During this time Fitbit will not show anything on the screen, and it will not show that it is charging. It looks "dead", but I kept it connected to charger nevertheless)
2) Disconnect from charger (the disconnect from charger was important for me!)
3) Manually boot/restart the Fitbit by pressing all 3 buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds. -- > That will bring up Fitbit Logo. My battery now showed 2% charged (only 2% after 1 hour of charging!)
4) Reconnect Fitbit to charger and let it fully charge.
Hope it works for others too.

I followed the instructions. I cleaned. I tried to charge. I tried to reset. I have done them all multiple times and my fitbit will still not charge or turn on. Is there anything else I can do or is it for real dead?

Get a replacement then Ebay it. Buy a Garmin. It will die on you again. They are junk.

I got a replacement pebble last year but have stuck with the Ionic that has a grey screen sometimes. Got £65 for the new pebble. Money towards the 745 Garmin.

Same here. This is my first Fitbit. Had it a year and it died. Won't charge. I've tried all the steps and nothing. So disappointed to spend so much money to have this happen. This also happened to my $800 Samsung tablet which also was out of warranty. Lots of money down the drain, ugh. Several of my friends use Garmin watches and they love them. May be time to switch over.
