Ionic is frozen in the screen showing the Fitbit logo

My Fitbit Ionic is frozen in a screen showing the Fitbit Logo and below it there is a greeting in every language known to man.  I can't get out of it to the settings menu to shut it down.  It has been like this for 2 days now, and must not bee using much battery, because it still seems to be about 30 percent charged.  Any ideas?

Thanks for the details shared in your post. I appreciate your efforts and recommend trying the following:

 

  1. Remove your watch from the Bluetooth settings on your phone.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Restart your watch with the steps from this help article.
  5. Keep your watch connected to the charging cable. 
  6. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  7. Choose Ionic from the list and follow the onscreen instructions.

I still get the same screen.

It doesn't even acknowledge that it is plugged into the computer.
