@happykarrie your issue is with the changes made by Apple in iOS 13. Fitbit is aware of this and is working on a resolution.

Since the ionic will only display what the Fitbit app sends to the ionic.
May I ask what phone model are you having issues with?
I only ask because with my Andy's device I'm getting all notifications but messages.

I’m having the same problem. I did everything Fitbit and you suggested. It all started after my Apple update 13. I get phone call notifications but not text notifications.

Hello! I did the same thing where I rebooted my devices as well as even unpairing/pairing them. But I'm still getting all notifications except from messages. Everyone is saying it's the iOS new system, but I have android (Samsung s9+, in particular). Anyone else with an android with this issue?

Same here. I also reset my Fitbit back to factory settings... no luck. One of the main reasons why I bought this Fitbit, was to recieve my text messages, seeing as my phone needs to be on silent for work.

Realized the problem existed last week, after the iOS 13 update. Did some online research and found a solution for the iPhone...you need to go into your notifications settings and turn on "Show Previews." I opted for "always" and it now works.
Hope this helps.

The best place would be to keep an eye on the main thread that is pinned on the iOS board.

How long are they going to work on it? It’s November and there still isn’t a solution. Should have stuck with Apple. I’ve tried everything to solve the issue with no solution.

Hello @Meehan005 I'm not sure what phone you have or how compatible it is. Or if you have searched the Android forum for your phone model.

The update pushed out a week after my post fixed the problem. It's still a little spotty at times, but I'm getting my notifications again.

I get this message of the IPhone update causing issues with loads of the apps on my Fitbit, can’t sync weather, my Strava doesn’t update on watch, no texts showing... how long is this going to go on for?? I paid a lot for my watch and I can’t get the full benefit of my watch?? How long is this going to take to update please?

I agree. Just spent 30 minutes in a chat with customer service who told me to do all of these steps. After I completed them she says well to be transparent, we are still working on this problem. How long can a company keep posting on their site that they are aware of the problem and are working on it. We paid for a benefit on this watch which for me is one of the most important features, and I have never seen that it is taking months and months to correct. Maybe Fitbit is on the downswing and we should think about another company because they certainly do not seem to have the technical talent to solve their problems.

I think I figured it out but am not pleased with the work around. Go to
settings, notifications, messages and turn on show preview under options.
Not when you receive a text it will show a preview on your phone and the
message with appear on your watch.

@Meehan005 unfortunately on iOS if show preview is off, the OS does not send the text and therefore fitbit will not be able to display the text.
On Android if messages do not show up on the lock screen, the OS will not send the message for fitbit to read.
Sorry but this is how the operating system works.
@Dels15778 I'm not sure what type of phone you have, but if your referring to the iOS message banner, Apple made a change that looks as if they ate recently, without letting third parties know, this also has affected other trackers like Garmin.
