It wasn’t like this until the IOS update. You think by now this issue would have been resolved.

You would have thought Apple, if they wanted 3rd parties to have access to notifications, they would have given a heads up to what changes they where about to make. However they decided to simply make a change, leaving third parties in the dark. They already block third parties from responding to notifications , Fitbit has to figure out what changes where made without help from those that made the changes.

Yes, I am. I have a Samsung S10+. I'm not getting text messages. And I'm only getting other notifications sporadically, maybe 5% if the time.

Any resolutions? It has only been 2+ months since my Ionic stopped receiving text messages. I think Google could care less about iPhone users, so no fix is coming. That is fine, next watch will be an Apple unless things get fixed.

Well Rich, I appreciate Fitbit working on the problem. What I do not appreciate is the fact that I have an expensive “smart”watch on my wrist, and it does not work properly. I have not had text notifications for quite sometime, and Fitbit wants to blame the new IOS update. I find it extremely hard to believe that Fitbit is working diligently to fix the issue, or there would already be a solution. To make my frustration even worse, I get an email telling me the company is being bought out. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of concern, and communication, displayed by this company. I do truly hope that you fix the issue in the near future. Please do not patronize me with the instructions on how to go to my settings to allow notifications. Obviously, I have already performed the aforementioned recommendations.

I just contacted support as my Ionic was no longer showing incoming phone calls or text messages since I updated my iPhone to iOS 13. They had me go to my Bluetooth connection, click on the "i" (information) next to my Ionic connection and turn on Share System Notifications (which must have been turned off after iOS 13 was installed). That is all I did and I am now receiving text messages and incoming phone calls again.

Bought two ionics for the Christmas holidays. I cant get either to notify me of emails or text msgs....However, we both can get incoming calls. I have a brand new S10+ and my gf has the iPhone 8+. I would like for someone to address this issue rapidly because I am highly considering sending both watches back.

I would contact Fitbit and have them walk you through the setup.
Your probably having the iOS issue noted in the banner above for the last few months.

Send them back ASAP. They have been having this issue ever since the new IOS update, which I believe may have been 2 updates ago, now. They have not addressed the issue, and it appears they are in no hurry to do so. Just my 2 cents.

@NtarheelC it is funny how agree contacting Fitbit, many users, by following the setup steps, where able to get text messaging to work on iOS.

Rich, I appreciate your concern on getting me to the correct source so that I may be able to use my Fitbit Ionic to its advertised capabilities. I have contacted Fitbit customer service as recent as today, and I was given the same response as you have given to many others... I was told that the we’re sorry for the inconvenience, and their team of technicians were working toward a solution. When I asked further questions like if I could speak with someone with their team, or if there were any other helpful tips that may lead me in the right direction, I was once again informed that they had a team working on the matter. I inquired to a possible time frame of completion for the “problem”. The agent told me there was no time frame because they did not want to set a time table on finding the solution because they did not know if they would be able to meet the time. So, Rich, my friend, once again, I appreciate your concern, and if there happens to be any other possible solutions, I am all ears. All I desire is for my smart watch to function properly. Thanks

I HAVE contacted them. I've gotten some messages hit or miss but my Fitbit doesn't vibrate to notify me. Sent from my U.S.Cellular© Smartphone

Just realised mine no longer displays messages or notifies when my phone rings, i have an iphone 8. My fitbit doesn't work at all at the moment so this isn't a problem at the moment.

Mine constantly has this issue. So frustrating as it works one minute and then stops for no apparent reason. I have done everything that I’m told to do but it’s like the watch has a mind of its own.

Has anybody read my reply from the 16th of this month? I have an iPhone X on iOS 13.3 and by following these simple steps given to me through FitBit Support Chat, I permanently fixed this issue on my Ionic. Read below, PLEASE!

Thanks for the info RBrumley. I have read your post, but unfortunately that was not my issue. The share system notifications were not turned off in my settings. Thanks again, and I hope this solution will help others.

Then the next step is to contact Fitbit.
The problem has nothing to do with the tracker. But has almost everything to do with the phone.
