I've seen countless threads on this issue and it's saying it has been resolved. It has not! I have been struggling ever since I bought this device. As I'm typing here the freakin watch is not syncing. I've done EVERYTHING as explained in the other threads. I'm very close to sending this device back and buying another smart watch.

Maybe it depends on the phone. I purchased the Ionic yesterday, brought it home and had no issues syncing to my phone. I have a Pixel 2XL running Android 'P' beta. It has only been a day, but so far the Ionic and my phone have stayed in sync.

Could be, but I have had two different phones, and both have the same problem. I first used a Samsumg A5 and now a Huawai P10 lite.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Bezzie! I totally understand your point. Note that the devices on this list have been confirmed as fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible as my friend @Gfw mentioned, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.
Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone meets the minimum operating system requirements. Note that the majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products.
If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, I'd recommend giving the setup flow a try to see if you can successfully connect your tracker.
The Huawei P10 Lite and the Google Pixel 2XL are not included in the list yet. Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent Huawei Lite models, including P8 and P9 Lite, from syncing with some devices, like Fitbit devices, our products are not compatible with these mobile phones.
Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.
Let me know if there's anything else I may assist you with.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Unfortunately the Huawei lite wont work. Thisnis what Fitbit says about them
Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent Huawei Lite models, including P8 and P9 Lite, from syncing with some devices, like Fitbit devices, our products are not compatible with these mobile phones.
And I also cant see the Samsung on the Supported Devices List either. Many Samsungs DO work, so there is hope you can get it working. Have a read of THIS Help Article on troubleshooting syncing and see if there is anything that helps there.

Hi, @Bezzie, unfortunately Fitbits simply do not work with the "lite" version of the Huawei phones. This is because your phone handles Bluetooth differently from other mobile phones (including the non lite verrsions). I'm afraid that the advice from other threads won't help in this case.
When a topic is marked as solved, that means the original question is answered, not necessarily that it now works!
Here is what Fitbit says on the subject (from the Help files):
"WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT USING MY FITBIT DEVICE WITH A HUAWEI PHONE?
Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent Huawei Lite models, including P8 and P9 Lite, from syncing with some devices, like Fitbit devices, our products are not compatible with these mobile phones."
You can check and read the full help article here.
If you are thinking of buying a different fitness device you should carefully check compatibility with your phone. I have read that the "lite" versions have problems with many other Bluetooth devices, not just Fitbits. I think I read that they won't sync with Garmins either.
Sorry not to have better news for you! (But I am afraid that it is the answer to your question...)

Thanks everyone for your advise.
Just to provide a little more information. I have successfully synced the device to my Huawei P10lite. It worked well for a few days now, until earlier today. And now I'm not getting it to sync again. Its been going on like this for a long time. I just really got frustrated now so decided to write a post.
My A5 had the same issues. It would sync for a day or two, only to stop working thereafter and then I had to restart everything, unpair etc etc.
I like the watch a lot, when it works! Very frustrating especially if you take the price tag into consideration. I would like to know if the other smartwatches experiences the same syncing issues with certain phones.

From what I have read, other smart watches (and other BT devices) have same issue with lite versions of Huawei phones.

Interesting... the Pixel 2XL has been out for well over a year and until my Charge 2 dies on Tuesday, the Pixel XL2 had no issues. While I really hope that the Ionic doesn't quit working, I purchased mine at Best Buy so I am still in my 30 day return window if it suddenly stops. After 30 days, I have 2 years under their warranty if the watch fails to function.
How long does it normally to certify a phone to be compliant with your apps.

@Gfw, Fitbit is pretty behind on updating its compatibility list. Many phones work that aren't on the list, so it is always worth trying -- or asking. The Fitbit Community here is the best source for this info. I am pretty sure that lots of people are syncing with your phone, so I don't think you need to worry.
The Huawei Lite phones are another matter. Fitbit has actually announced that they don't work, so you can take it from that that they really, really don't.

@Bezzie Thanks for your reply and for providing those details! That is happening as the Huawei P10 Lite is not listed as a supported device.
