For the last 3-4 days my notifications on my Ionic have not been working correctly. I will get a text/facebook message on my phone and my ionic will not vibrate but when I swipe down the notification is there. I have turned off Bluetooth and reinstalled, synced, removed all notifications and re-added. I will get vibrations for reminders to move, alarms, and times, its only the notifications that are not working. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @E_nugen! If your tracker is not vibrating when you get notifications, I'd like to restart your Ionic by following these steps:
- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
- Let go of the buttons.
- If your Fitbit Ionic doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.
On the other hand, please note that with the new Fitbit OS update 2.1, Notifications are now removed from the Ionic/Versa once you open the conversation in your phone. This is expected behavior and not an issue.
Keep me posted!

I'm having the exact same problem. Nothing shows up on my screen but when I swipe down, all my notifications are there. I've tried uninstalling the app, turning everything off and back on, restarting my FitBit, shutting down my Fitbit, nothing is helping. Is there anything else I can do?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @eneed1566! Thanks for following the suggestions provided, nice way to go!
Please force quit the Fitbit app and reopen it to sync your Fitbit device.
Notifications should work as expected after your device syncs. If they don't, continue with the following steps:
- From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon > your device image.
- Tap Notifications.
- Turn off all notifications
- Turn off Bluetooth on your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Restart your Ionic once again.
- Open the Fitbit app and turn notifications back on.
- Sync your phone
If after following these steps they still don't work, let move on with the following:
- Tell your phone to "forget" your device, removing the connection between the phone and the Fitbit device.
- On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and find your Fitbit device in the list.
- Find an option to forget the device.
- Open the Fitbit app and set up notifications again.
Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!

@rtravisboyd @michelled @Makeup_By_GBR Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for trying all of the steps provided above in order to sort this out. It's unfortunate to read that Ionic is still not vibrating when receiving notifications.
I went ahead and created cases with customer support in your behalf. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for next steps.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

fixed the issue. Remember to go into your phone’s Bluetooth settings and
have it “Forget” your Ionic.

Thanks MarreFitbit, in followed the recommended steps after my Fitbit wasn't vibrating for messages or calls received on my iPhone. Following the steps has now synced back to normal. Thanks for the advice.

Now, after the update mine is doing the same thing. I have done all of these steps over and over. UGH! First the Airpod thing and them being set at permanent max volume levels when paired to the Ionic, and now this. It is very frustrating.

Having lost a quite a few calls due to no vibration on the Ionic I got more and more frustrated. And trying various methods of resetting, re-activating notification, and being very close to throwing the whole thing in the brick wall I finally found the solution: And it was the same as yours.
1. HOLD down Left button
2. Entering Music Controls, Swipe Right
3. Entering TWO Setup Functions; Screen Wake (Manual/Auto), and Notifications (off/on)
4. Set Notifications to ON
I presume you ALREADY have enabled Notification at the following places;
1. Left click
2. Swipe right a few times
3. Entering SETTINGS, set the following;
- Vibrations (Normal or Strong)
- Notifications:
-During Exercise: ON [May be set to OFF after testing that this is not the issue]
-During Sleep: ON [May be set to OFF after testing that this is not the issue]
AND On your Phone;
1. FitBit APP (example done on an IOS/ Iphone)
- Touch the clock icon top left
- Notifications;
- Calls: ON (if you prefer)
- Text Messages; ON (If you prefer)
- Calendar Events: ON (If you prefer)
- APP Notifications; (Apps will be empty in the start, will pop up AFTER fitbit detects a notification to your phone)
- Apps of your choice: ON
The solution was rather "easy", but when you don't know where to look, it's rather frustrating 🙂

If you've tried soft reset, hard reset and read the instructions in both the manual and the one posted by earlier in this thread, I recommend you contact Fitbit Support on the phone. They're usually really nice, and if your problems are caused by faulty hardware they'll most likely give you a new one.
Being a computer engineer, I always make sure my Firmware is up to date;
1. Push Left button
2. Swipe left til you find Settings
3. Push settings
4. Swipe UP til you reach buttom and the menu "About"
5. Choose About
6. Verify your Version is 27.33.1.30 (or newer)
PS: Further down in the Settings, you'll find FACTORY RESET. This is a last resort.
Good luck,
