For the last 3-4 days my notifications on my Ionic have not been working correctly. I will get a text/facebook message on my phone and my ionic will not vibrate but when I swipe down the notification is there. I have turned off Bluetooth and reinstalled, synced, removed all notifications and re-added. I will get vibrations for reminders to move, alarms, and times, its only the notifications that are not working. Does anyone know how to solve this?

I also stopped getting vibrations on notifications after the firmware upgrade. I did a factory reset on the watch (Settings->About->Factory Reset) and removed it from the fitbit app. Once it was setup again (with the old firmware version, 27.33.1.30) notifications are working again. The app is currently not offering the firmware upgrade to me so I haven't tried upgrading again.

I'm frustrated now, I had all notifications working and I updated my fitbit firmware and now I have no notifications. I'm version 27.68.9.15 on a Samsung phone.
New update has removed all notification settings I previously shared.
Please help Fitbit

My ionic watch was not vibrating when receiving text messages or phone calls.
I tried everything in Fitbit help section, including checking all settings, resetting watch, reestablishing Bluetooth-watch connection, etc.etc.etc.
In total frustration I went to community and read a post by Bjorne, dated 01/04/2019. He mentioned tuning notifications on in music controls by holding left button and swiping left twice. OMG, I didn’t even know this existed! My watch was set to off! Everywhere else on watch and app it was on! I set it to on . My watch is now vibrating now!!!
Not sure why this setting is not mention in help information. Very glad I ran across it. Try this if you tried everything else.

@RandellS seems like you're still running the previous (Fitbit OS 3.x) firmware. Consider yourself lucky you haven't upgraded. Whatever you do, don't upgrade to the newer firmware if you're prompted to do so in the app. Upgrading to Fitbit OS 4.x breaks the notifications for just about everyone, with no possibility to turn it back on.

Jorix - Sad thing is people seem to have been having these problems with Ionic not vibrating on notifications since Sept 2018. Wonder why is it taking Fitbit so long to sort things out for those who have tried all the suggestions but are still having problems?

A week ago or so my Ionic stopped notifying me of text messages and phone calls. Now I no longer get the vibration.
I have unpaired multiple times, turned on and off the notification buttons and have restarted my Ionic and my phone.
How can I fix this problem?

Hi, I have had this problem too. This morning, I went to the app and forgot device, turned off my fitbit and logged out of the app fully. I then restarted the app, logged in, turned my watch on and re-added device. Since I have done this it is now working.
Worth a try. Hope it helps.

I have also had the same issue. I have called and been given a case number. After roughly 4 weeks I have yet to hear anything or have the issue resolved. I have tried everything except for the factory reset. Seems if this many people are having this issue there would be something done in a more timely fashion. Just a little frustrated.

Hello,
I am little bit new in that community but need help.
I have Fitbit Ionic since almost one year and was very happy about it. Since 10 days vibrations stopped.
I am wearing it every day and second except when I have to charge the battery.
So I read all suggested comments here but still the issue stays.
I stopped notification of my phone. Stopped notification from the app. Restart both devices - not working.
I shut it down from Settings > About > Shut down - not working
I even did Factory Reset from the same menu, created new account and installed new Fitbit app - still no vibration.
All that attempt makes me think that the problem is something hardware. I haven't hit it or do anything which can cost any damage. I even put protector of the screen.
Please advise! I saw that closest official Fitbit service is very far away from me and could not have any proper help which will not cost any damage of my loved sport watch.

I have tried every step on this support page.
my notifications have not been vibrating on my ionic since 2020. While it is still handy for steps and workouts and paying , the fact remains that notifications on the ionic is a epic fail. Firmware updates whatever. NOTHING WORKS.( I’ll buy the iWatch next because this notifications troubleshooting is beyond tedious.) I get an alert on my phone, check my watch sure enough there is the alert, why won’t you VIBRATE!!! End rant.
