Ionic is paired but still says to connect

I have a Samsung Galaxy 9 Note and just purchased the Ionic and went through the whole set up process. My phone says the Ionic is paired but it is not receiving any type of phone notifications and when I try to turn on notifications from the fitibit it says that I need to connect the phone through the pairing/bluetooth process.

This makes no sense. What do I do????

The only way the tracker will appear in your phone's bluetooth screen is if you have already enabled notifications. It can't be paired from that screen like normal BT devices. The Galaxy Note 9 is not in the list of supported devices. That may be why you are having issues with notifications.
