Ionic is recording longer runs

I have been running with my ionic for ages now but very recently it has started recording my runs to be longer than they are. Routes that I know are 5 miles long for example are recording as closer to 5.5miles. why is this and how can I fix it? Thank you

This sounds really odd, thanks for letting me know that your Ionic is currently tracking longer tracks for your runs. How are you tracking your activities? In the meantime, please restart your Fitbit Ionic. I'd like to have more details about your runs. Can you share screenshots?

Thank you. I re started the tracker last night and have just run what I know is 6.5 miles. It says it is 7.04miles!! I track the run in running mode.
Let me know what else I can try it is very annoying!
