Ionic isn't connecting to GPS

Hi all

On my last few runs I have got home to find that my route wasn't mapped as my Ionic hadn't connected to GPS, so no splits or accurate distance recorded.

I have searched online and seen advice to switch off and on again, didn't work. Advice to sit it outside for a few minutes to search for a signal, didn't work.

So today I did a factory reset and I got it to connect. Found it hard to contain my excitement so went for a walk to test, 0.21 miles in it disconnected and didn't even try to reconnect.

So I'm after ideas of what else i can try before leaving Fitbit after many years and many devices.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @fairfaxfarquar.

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I understand how you are feeling about this situation and recommend trying the following:

  1. Confirm the steps to restart your watch: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Check if your Fitbit app is updated to the latest version as updates come with new features and bug fixes: How do I update the Fitbit app?

  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Force quit, and reopen the Fitbit app to refresh the connection with your device.
  5. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.

For more information about tracking your activity with GPS, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.
