Ionic just stopped working!

My ionic, which has caused problems in the past just stopped working. Error message: change watch face not syncing! Have tried to reset/ restart about 8 times. Deleted unit. Restarted app. Restarted iPhone. All to no avail! I’m dumping ionic and going to Apple Watch where I can at least get support. Ionic not worth it!!

Today, after 2 days of a maximum of 6 hours battery life on a full charge, I have decided, yet again, to factory reset and start over. (This is probably the 4th or 5th time I've had to do a factory reset and start over to fix bugs in the 3 months I have owned this watch).


Today, after factory reset, Bluetooth pairing failed. Had to shut off Bluetooth on my iPhone, turn it back on, forget the ionic, then start over. After doing this twice, it finally reconnected. I am currently installing OS 2 (again) in hopes that this fixes the new battery life issue but frankly, I am now afraid to install and/or customize any app because they all seem to cause problems eventually.


Frankly, I've never had so many issues with any electronic device with modern day technology than I have had with this watch. Does Fitbit have a buyback program for unsatisfied owners?

Same problem here. Had to completely reset the watch three or four times before it decided to work again - in my case, it said the watch face was corrupted. Interestingly, the watch face I was using is no longer available. Got this watch for Christmas and it seems that every few weeks there is something wrong with it - yesterday/today I am dealing with horrible battery life - 8 hours on a full charge!

I have used a Charge HR for several years with basically no issues and was looking forward to the Ionic. But have had nothing but problems since I switched. Not worth it. Very unstable technology in the Ionic.

I’d like to know about the buyback also. Total disappointment with Ionic.

They don't have a buyback as such but if you bought from fitbit's online store you have 45 days to return it for a refund

Thanks for the info - I have had mine for more than 30 days.


Update on battery issue: Full factory restore, then OS 2 update. Battery 100% at 9:27 EST. No additional apps installed, all day sync off, Fitbit watch face. @ 10:49 EST, battery drained 76%. At this rate, I'd be lucky to get 5 hours.

Time for 2nd call to support.

My ionic has just stopped working. Went to bed working woke up and it had stopped .      Help.    Margiem4039

After all the trouble I had with my first Ionic, Fitbit support replaced it and I am happy to report that the new one is working well. To be frank, I am simply using it as a tracker these days (no apps installed, etc.) and it has been working flawlessly to that extent.

Put my ionic on charge. When I retrieved it, I found a black screen. Please advise. I love this watch. I’ve only had it three months and I wear it daily.
