Well I had my Ionic for a month or so and it been working, but recently I got new update and this morning it would not sync my information - in fact it stop syncing information since 7PM yesterday
I been primary connecting this to my Samsung Tab S3 because iPhone 6 is slow and concern it would eat my battery life. I try everything - reboot was struggle - but I notice option to shutdown. I also found just before this to restart 3 times and also was having issues with pressing buttons and rebooting - but I just notice to hold all 3 buttons down.
So I decided to unhook it from app and now ionic will not resync. My only thought is that Android app has issues with new ionic update. But currently my ionic will not sync. I have restarted ionic and Samsung many times. and pretty much upset it will not sync my sleep data which is primary reason I got the ionic.

I was able to resolved this issue - with my Fitbit Ionic - but it took some work
So far none of the techniques I notice here on Forums work, so last resort I did the following
1. On Ionic - went to settings select About and selected Factory Reset.
2. I struggle to make this work using my Android
3. So I installed Windows 10 App and was finally able to get the device Pair and updated
4. Android device is running and it appears I am running on older version of OS on watch.
Not sure if I desired to update it now. But at least I can sync - hopefully Fitbit fixes the current issues with latest update. But this issue is resolved for me and I was really concern.

When I have sync issues with my Ionic and my Oneplus 5T, I go into bluetooth devices on the phone and delete the Ionic and go back to the fitbit app and attempt a resync. This is done WITHOUT adding the Ionic back to bluetooth devices on my phone. This has worked for me 100% of the time. Hope it works for you. Good luck!

One thing is interesting is that at one point I notice both ionic and ionic (classic) in blue tooth settings - one thing also when I try to pair in settings I get error from Android system that it could not pair
I also curious if there is a way to sync via Wi-Fi connection - to save all this hassle.
Keep in mind - this problem did not happen until this latest update.

I thought I had some luck in change notifications settings. but it did not fix issue
my guess is apps need new update to fix this issue. Not sure how watch can be updated if bad update.

The Ionic Classic is for music controls.
Did you attempt to remove the "Ionic" device from your BT settings on the phone and try to sync after?

What if I did removed it - what should I do - this is not acceptable - many people have issue with latest update for the watch. I am software developer by profession and Fitbit team needs to make this high priority or Fitbit is going to seriously loose customers.

OS 2 download went fine, all good for about 8 hours. Ionic then would not sync to the phone.
Would not connect to wi-fi either. Had to pay my ISP $60 to change settings to accommodate the Ionic..
Fixed that problem. After several hours trying tp pair I put the Ionic on charge and then turned it off. Turned it back on at the same time scanning my mobile for devices. Still on charge. Success. Picked up the Ionic. Clicked on that and it paired. All good.
Fitbit Ionic OS 2, Samsung Galaxy S5.

This may be an acceptable solution but not one I am happy with. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops when my provider does an upgrade, including a factory reset. I have not been able to sync since 8:15 am so tonight, I removed the ionic from my device and have not been able to add it back as it will not pair. In fact, my Samsung 8+ cannot even find it. I need a fix for this and soon!!

Yesterday the Ionic just disappeared from the Bluetooth pairing on my S5 Samsung. I opened Bluetooth on the phone. I turned the Ionic off, then turned it back on and continually pressed scan on the phone. After several ionic restarts it finally paired. There is a problem with the O 2 update , it is unstable and I hope Fitbit are working on a solution and an upgrade fix. It is a total pain. Had no problems at all, pairing or syncing with the previous OS.

Yes I believe there is SERIOUS problem with O 2 updated and even though it was painful to even think about doing the factory reset, I am glad I did - I have ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS resyncing since I did the factory reset last week.
As a software developer myself - I hope that Fitbit serious takes a look at this update related to especially in the area of Bluetooth sync - I would take this as far as saying, if i was Fitbit management, I would remove O 2 Update from system - completely recall it and indicated that Fitbit is planning a release. I would think this extremely important for company - because I seen messages of customers wanting to leave Fitbit because of this issue.

i wouldn't do a factory reset right now, I did that and lost everything and now i can't get it to connect with my phone and my watch is a paper weight. I've tried 2 phones, installing and reinstalling the app like 15 times, i started 4 different accounts, nothing works. Thing is it was just working and i did a reset to start fresh on a new account and all I did was create a paper weight.

Can't understand point #3.
How did you installed Windows 10 app on an android device.
My Ionic has syncing problems with my android phone since I bought it in Feb-2018. Turning on and off of bluetooth helped me to connect and sync even though for a while.
Now that I have upgraded my phone to android Pie, my watch gets found but couldn't connect or pair.
I have done a factory reset and can't use the watch until its connected to something.
Please help.

Thank you so much IamDefiler! This worked like a charm. I have done a factory reset to receive the OS 2.2 update and after this ionic was not pairing itself with my iPhone 8. After several hours of looking through the internet and forums, I hit upon your suggestion. Like you say, this worked instantly 🙂
kind regards.
