Hello @Lk1, and a warm welcome to the community!
To troubleshoot the Ionic detecting HR when you take it off, I give you steps.
1. Make sure the HR sensor is not blocked by dead skin or there is something covering the HR sensor.
2. Restart the watch and see if that fixes the problem.
3. Unpair and Pair the phone to your account again.
