Just cant get my Fitbit to calibrate and also software update keeps failing ??? Very frustrating

I see where your frustration is coming from. Since the firmware update is failing to install please follow the troubleshooting on this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?
In regards to the message you're receiving which is asking you to calibrate the Ionic, you could it by plugging in your Ionic and setting it on a flat surface. Once you have completed these steps a restart, or shutting down your Ionic (and turning it back on) after you complete the calibration (green check mark) should prevent you from seeing the prompt moving forward.
