Ionic not charging, not turning on

Hi all,

I’m hoping that the brains trust here can help me with issues that I’m having with my FitBit Ionic, purchased in February 2019.

Found on Sunday just gone that it was losing battery at a rapid rate. Charged it in the morning to approx. 50%, an hour or two later it was dead, showing 0% battery. Later the same day I charged it to about 30%, and again, dead within at least 30 minutes to an hour.

I did some googling, found that some had the same issue and that unpairing the device from Bluetooth and the app and a factory reset had helped. I unpaired from my phone, charged it up again, and while on charge (approx. 25%) did the factory reset. Now, it won’t turn back on!

It’s now non-responsive to everything I’ve tried. Tried the factory reset again, holding three buttons and then two buttons. Tried leaving it on charge through a wall socket overnight. Tried leaving it plugged into the usb port on my work computer all day. Tried alternating between a usb port and wall socket. Nothing is working. I have a dead FitBit with me. The watch is only coming up to being six months old!

Is there something else that can be done to bring it back to life? I’ve tried everything that I can find and am having no luck.

Any input that can be added to this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
