Hi all. I'v noticed a lot of people having problems with the ionic with syncing. Now I've had mine about 5 weeks and its been ok but far from perfect., especially when ive folked out £300 for it. Anyway mine hadn't synced in days, from when i finally managed to get the firmware updated after so many attempts, but now its not connecting at all. I unpaired the watch, restarted it, tried changing the clock face, etc and now it won't reconnect. I've spent 5 hours trying to get it back up and running but finally give up.
Anyone got any solutions or help?

@Rally80, open the phone's Bluetooth settings, select the Fitbit app, tell Bluetooth to Forget the Device, close the phone's settings, re-open the Fitbit app and try manually syncing the tracker. The app should re-connect to the tracker and start the sync.

Thanks for the reply. I tried this for several hours yesterday and today without success. Ive only got as far as inputting the 4 digit pin then after a few minute trying to connect i get a message saying bluetooth problem. Starting to give up on it because you shouldn't be getting these problems on such an expensive fitness tracker/smart watch

It sounds like you're still within the 45 day return window, if you're giving up on it might as well give it back and get your money back.

Sad to say it but i think its looking likely I'll be sending it back and get a refund. Its a real shame because i really like everything about ionic but these syncing problems make it unbearable to deal with. Ill just see if the customer service have any other suggestions

If you do get any joy with advice from customer support, please can you let us know what they say. I’m having exactly the same problem and it’s extremely frustrating. Beginning to wish I hadn’t bought the Ionic myself...

I got a reply from support and they advised me to do a factory reset. I followed the instructions and now my ionic is stuck on the setup screen and when prompted to input the 4 digit pin nothing happens. I think since the last firmware update, its messed my watch up so its looking like im sending it back and getting a refund.

Same issue here. Except I cannot return it as I have had my watch since January. This really sucks as I'm quite into my fitness training and to buy a new watch is so expensive! I hope they fix this issue really fast. I tried 3 phones. Sony Xperia Z5 ( which used to sync) Huawei Mate 20 and iPhone 6. All no luck!!
How does fitbit's developers think quite honestly!

Hi, I have recently gotten the same issue. My ionic would not sync with my Samsung Galaxy S8, with android 8.0.0. Please note my S8 just received a new software update on December 8, 2018 at 4PM EST.
I have tried all combinations of soft-resetting the Ionic: turning off the bluetooth on my phone, restarting both the ionic and the phone, as well as un-pairing the Ionic from the phone's bluetooth (not the app).
I have then resorted to doing a factory reset and have unpaired the device completely from the Fitbit App on my phone. Now my Ionic is stuck on the set up screen (where it says to visit fitbit.com/setup) and the app is stuck on the searching for Ionic page (which after a while tells me that my device may need to charge, etc). Both my phone and Ionic are >= 80% battery. I have tried when both are charging.
I would love to have this resolved as soon as possible.

Welcome to the Community @nsimsiri! Thanks for sharing the inconvenience that you have with your Ionic's connection to your mobile device. I appreciate all the efforts you did trying all the troubleshooting you mentioned. As you did pretty much everything, I would like to suggest you to try setting up your Ionic with a computer or other mobile device that has bluetooth integrated to see if it works. Then you can try syncing with your Samsung Galaxy S8.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it works!
