My Ionic went through a firmware update some time ago and now doesn't connect reliably via bluetooth to my Pixel phone.
I have got it to refresh by rebooting my phone and doing a shut down on the watch but it only refreshed a few times without any solid reason.
ATM it hasn't connected since yesterday and pulling down or taping the refresh symbol doesn't do anything.
I expect it to refresh immediately when pulling down on the screen on the phone but it won't refresh reliably at all.
All day refresh is enabled and I've restarted both devices too many time to count.
It was totally reliable before the update so I'm not impressed I have to say.

Have you disconnect Bluetooth for the watch in the settings, restated both device then reconnect.

Hello, yes tried that.
I tapped forget yesterday and then it sometimes appears in available devices sometimes doesn't but when it's listed I tap on it and it just sits there saying pairing for about 30 secs then stops and doesn't appear in my bluetooth list of paired devices.
The phones bluetooth is working because I can see it currently connected to my Qstarz 818XT and can see lots of satellites and it's 5 meters away. The Ionic is here on my wrist 300mm away.
When the Ionic doesn't appear in the list of available devices I have to restart either the phone or the watch to get it to reappear.
It does the same thing when I tested trying to pair it to my notebook.

For everyone's information I gave up trying to get the Ionic to connect and because my Pixel is now out of support, after only 24 months use 😞 I bought a Galaxy 9+ at a good price and started again.
From the factory setup I SmartSwitch'ed the Pixel to it and Fitbit is now working fine.
Syncs ok and seems to be back to normal.
