I teach spinning - high intensity interval training classes & noticed that my Ionic usually does NOT record active minutes when I select "spinning" or "biking" activities. The active minutes are recorded when I don't select any specific activity. For me, # active minutes are most important parameter for cardio fitness --for the cost of this product - it's annoying & disappointing to not have that data

Hello @K7H, welcome to the Community Forums! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I appreciate the information and details that were shared in your post, totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you and I apologize for that. To better assist you with this situation, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? Also, this occurs only with Spinning or Biking activities? The Ionic is tracking Active Minutes but at the moment you sync your device such information isn't show or Active Minutes are not being recorded at all?
In the meantime I receive your answers, please restart your Ionic following the next steps:
Please keep me posted.

I'm experiencing similar issues with exercise tracking. Though I start an exercise session on the watch and begin exercising, when I stop, all I see is the watch face; the session has been ended by the device.
I contacted Fitbit support who told me this is a known issue their engineers are working on. They also said the only way to know when a fix is available is to keep contacting customer support. They have no way to push updates or contact users experiencing this or any other Fitbit-caused issues.
My guess is you'll hear back that this is a know issue that isn't resolved, manually track your exercise, and regularly check back with Fitbit support to see if they've fixed it.
Pretty badly handled on Fitbit's part, inmho.

Thanks for reply. It started in November 2018 -- but sporadic - sometimes it would show in the activity what seemed accurate active minutes when I selected the spinning or bike activities & sometimes the active minutes seemed much lower than expected based on perceived exertion & duration. Over those months when I synced my Ionic, sometimes my watch face recorded active minutes for spin or bike, that did not show up at all (ie 0 active minutes) on the sync report. So there was inconsistency with the bike & spinning active minutes as displayed on the watch AND on the sync report. The only other activities I used are golf & walking & haven't noticed any problem. One more consideration- when the App was recently updated, my watch face stopped displaying active minutes. So yesterday I installed a new Fitbit watch face & will restart Ionic again as you suggest & monitor. Will report back.
