Ionic not registering my heart rate when I exercise

When I exercise ( spinning) I do 30 minutes I start the spinning it registers the time but not my heart rate so I have 100% below zones and it says I’ve only done 20 odd calories I’ve tried turning it on and off , resetting it, removing it from app nothing works help!
