So I got my Ionic yesterday. Had the charge 2 prior. Ionic seems to record that I'm sleeping while it's on the charger and doesn't record that I'm sleeping when I'm actually asleep. Band was tight enough, wrist setting is on the proper one (dominant) and the sleep sensitivity for movement is on "normal" instead of sensitive.... not sure why it didn't register?
Edit: It didn't sync properly with my pc, my sleep is now showing up after syncing with my phone instead. The whole "only connect to one bluetooth device at a time" thing is awful. I have to manually turn on and off the bluetooth on my computer all the time.

Welcome to the Community @erasablebond! Thanks for letting the Community know that after properly syncing your Ionic your sleep information showed up.
Regarding your question about syncing, it may take longer or won't sync at all, because you have various devices trying to sync your Fitbit tracker. You can try forgetting your Ionic in one of the Bluetooth devices settings, so this will make the syncing smoother. Learn more about it by checking How do Fitbit devices sync their data?.
Hope this helps!

Glad you got it working. I'm fortunate, I only have my iPhone and Ionic connecting to my PC via Bluetooth, so I'm not having any connection issues. I will add however, that the Ionic is doing a much more accurate job of monitoring my Heart Rate and Sleep Cycles. I'm coming from the Blaze, which did a great job as well, but my Ionic, just seems to be more accurate, probably due to the new sensor. I can hardly wait till Fitbit gets the O2 sensor working, that should open a whole new world for us!!!

I'm having a similar problem. Sleep mode seems to trigger a few hours before I actually go to bed (just sitting on the couch watching TV).
Also, after my watch syncs, I can see the basic sleep display, but no sleep insights. The app says the heart rate sensor is being disrupted or blocked during sleep, but I'm wearing it on my non-dominant wrist as instructed. This is two nights in a row now, that it hasn't worked.
Is there any way to manually trigger sleep recording?

Hey there @GySgt_Seidell! Thank you for sharing with the Community about your experience with Ionic. I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your tracker and the heart rate and sleep cycles are working better than the previous tracker.
It's great to have you here @cellophanecerea! Your sleep stages will be tracked using a combination of your movement and heart-rate patterns. You mentioned that your Ionic doesn't seem to detect your heart rate at night, so this may be the reason why it's not showing you sleep stages.
Please try the following procedures:
- Confirm your tracker is snug on your wrist
- You can change the sleep sensitivity
- Check you have the latest version of the app which is 2.40.1 for iOS and 2.58 for Android
Are you getting any error message in your app about not getting sleep stages?
Keep me posted.

@cellophanecerea I sleep with it on my dominant wrist and and it's been working fine. However, i'm a side or back sleeper and the only side i sleep on isn't the same side as my dominant hand. (left side sleeper, right hand wearer) That way i make sure that i'm not pinching my fitbit under my pillow. I don't know if that would help or if that could be your problem but I figured i'd suggest it?

Hi Silvia,
I'm getting simplified sleep details, and the app says that it couldn't get a consistent heart rate reading while I was sleeping. That's 3 nights in a row now. I've worn my watch on each wrist at various tightness levels. I never have a problem during the day, or during workouts getting heart rate data.
I'm not sure what else to try. How would the sleep sensitivity setting effect the heart rate measurement?

I am having the same exact frustrating problem! I can't get my sleep insights either and I get that same message. I'm wondering if it is some sort of design flaw. I'd love to hear any other suggestions/comments from the company.

Thanks for the details that you've mentioned @cellophanecerea and @Mmsrocky2! Fitbit estimates your sleep stages using a combination of your movement and heart-rate patterns. While you’re sleeping, your device tracks the beat-to-beat changes in your heart rate, known as heart rate variability (HRV), which fluctuate as you transition between light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep stages. If we don’t have enough information on the backend to calculate this, we’ll show you your old sleep pattern which doesn’t require heart rate. It appears as though we didn’t have enough information, and as a result showed your old sleep pattern. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. You may want to check the fit of your tracker to make sure we get a good heart rate signal. To learn more about how to check the fit of your tracker, visit our help site.
Thanks for your input @erasablebond!
Hope this helps!

I’m having the same problem with the sleep tracking. No detailed information for the first three nights of use. I’ve tried rebooting the watch and adjusting the tension and position of the band. Also tried adjusting the sensitivity.
Overall impressed with the Ionic so I’ll keep trying for now but any advice would be useful.

Where do you find the sleep sensitivity setting on the ionic? I have not been able to locate where to change mine.

Thank you for your response, but I can't find "sleep sensitivity" under my advanced settings. I've looked everywhere. Any ideas?

You need to do it on the fitbit.com website (not the app or the Fitbit itself). In the drop down menu, go to Dashboard. Next, click on your picture on the far right to access your profile. Then you will see an option about half way down to change your sleep from "normal" to "sensitive". Good luck!

That's a great drawing and very helpful, unfortunately, my app doesn't have that advanced choice. It has the advanced setting option, but does not have a sleep setting option under it. I really appreciate the time that you took to help me.
I did find the setting when I went to my desktop profile.
Many thanks!!

I bought this thinking that it would be automatic and NOT have to mess around with a dozen different devices. This is NOT worth the money. I did a mile and a half crocheting...Yeah, right. Does NOT sinc up with anything, does NOT count the right steps, changes it's faces when it feels like it. I wanted it to monitor sleep, swim, steps and heart rate and half the time they're all wrong. My Samsung phone is better than this watch and cost half the price.
