Ionic not syncing back to app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ionic working fine today, did several workouts @ gym, tracked fine, synced to app on iPhone ok. Took off Ionic to shower when I got home. When I put it back on, steps, calories etc were zero! App still showed correct data. Have shutdown Ionic seversl tines to see if the data would reset but no joy. Still showeing zero even though I’ve walked around quite a bit since I put it back on. I’m mystified. Any advice welcone.

Hey there @MinnieStar, thanks for stopping by! Also, thanks for taking the time to restart your Ionic, nice way to go!

Is this the first time you face with this inconvenience? Do you have another Fitbit linked to your account? If you have more than one device paired to the same account and you forget to take one off before putting on another, we’ll reconcile the overlapping data to present the most accurate information possible on your dashboard. For example, if one of your trackers is using GPS and another is not, your dashboard chooses the GPS data when calculating total distance since GPS provides a more accurate distance measurement than step counting alone. However, the more overlapping data that exists on your account, the more likely it is that your dashboard's accuracy will suffer. For best results, don't wear more than one device at a time and sync each device before taking it off and putting on another.

“Live” data refers to the changing step count you see in the Fitbit app while you walk. If you have more than one Fitbit device, you see live data for the device that is closest to your phone. Keep the device you’re not using at least 10 feet away from your phone to avoid frequent “switching” of the live data.

Can you please confirm if you've performed these steps to restart your Ionic?

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your Fitbit Ionic doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

Looking forward to your response!

Hello @MinnieStar and welcome!  I know you have done a shutdown, but instead of that, how about trying to do a "RESET".  Go to any app screen (other than the clock face screen) and PRESS and HOLD the Left and Bottom Right buttons simultaneously, holding them both down until the Fitbit Icon appears and then releasing.  Hopefully this will get you back on track, no pun intended :).  Please post back if you need any further assistance and Keep on STEPPING!
