With the previous update, I could connect without going through the whole list of steps that previous Fitbits required. I was even believing that you had made a system that didn't rely on only buying devices from the ministry of compatibility. But the latest OS is back to the old days of requiring 17 restarts of every device, consulting an astrology chart and then having your hunchback raise it up during a lightning storm.
Is there any chance of rolling back to the previous operating system?

@PhiloPharynx It's great to see you around. Thanks for the details mentioned.
It's not possible to revert your firmware update to the previous one. I would like you to try this syncing troubleshooting and check if your Ionic syncs as expected. If you keep having the same issue, please let me know which mobile device you have.
Keep me posted!

Hi @SilviaFitbit Oh, believe me, I'm an old hand at going through all of the syncing troubleshooting. I used to go through it on a regular basis, stopped and now with this update we're back to it.
Syncing is worse on all three of my devices, an LG stylo 4 phone, a cheap tablet, and an ASUS ROG computer. Yes, I did not select devices specifically from your tiny list of very expensive approved devices. But before this update, all three synced reliably. After the update, it's a pain in the rear and only the no-name tablet ever syncs spontaneously. It used to do it all the time, but now it only does it a couple of times a week.

@PhiloPharynx Thanks for getting back.
Please note that your phone or tablet is not on our list of compatible devices. We confirmed that the devices on this list are fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.
We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone or tablet meets the minimum operating system requirements.
If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, we provide assistance and troubleshooting steps. Because your phone or tablet is not fully compatible with Fitbit devices, we can't guarantee syncing and other Fitbit features.
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Well, two weeks ago, all of these devices were working just fine. I haven't changed anything with my system but the new operating system on my Ionic. Blaming these devices would make sense if they had never worked, but since they have, it must be an issue with your software. I'd like to go back to the software that worked and gave me the value I expected when I bought this unit. I have been with Fitbit for many years, but I've had several problems. Some of the responses have been good, and others have been very poor.
When you focus on the hardware that was previously proved to work is not helpful. Figuring out a way to get this working without problems would be useful.

I appreciate your feedback and comments shared, these comments help us to continue improving. Currently, it's not possible to revert back the firmware version that you installed. However, I can confirm that our Fitbit team is always testing new devices and adding them to the list.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

So, is there any solution to get back the functionality that was removed? Is Fitbit's official position that they don't care about anybody who hasn't bought one of the small number of approved devices despite these working in the past?

@PhiloPharynx Thanks for getting back.
I've noticed that some users are able to sync with mobile devices that aren't supported. However, after an app update they stop syncing. As mentioned before, Fitbit is always testing new devices and adding them to the list.
Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
