Ionic not tracking sleep for almost a month

Wondering if my ionic is toast in terms of tracking sleep .... I've had fitbit devices for many years ... have had the ionic for a year maybe and always tracked sleep in detail ... for the past month it only tracked 2 times with the normal detail with every other time not really being tracked in detail but not really accurate at all missing hours of time here and there ...   nothing has really changed for me so dont get why it's doing this and the other day for the first time it was stuck on step count ... I had to restart the device for it to start counting steps again ...   and after restart still not getting the sleep details ....any ideas?

@Rycol26 A warm welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried prior to posting.

I appreciate that you mentioned you've had your Ionic for a year and it always tracked your sleep. There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If you're still not receiving sleep stages, please tap on the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern and you'll see a message showing you why you received simplified sleep details. Once you have it, please attach a screenshot of the message.

Let me know the outcome. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
