Ionic not tracking steps and heart rate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just a day ago I noticed my Ionic is no longer tracking my steps or my heart rate. The calorie count seems to still be going however that also estimates what you burn whether you wear it or not, so that's up in the air. I tried doing all the things online said to: restart the fitbit, check for updates,  check for clock face updates, make sure heart rate is turned on, etc. So far nothing. Anyone else having this issue or know of any tips??? It's very frustrating since my Fitbit is barely 2 years old. I feel like these things don't last long...

Hi @CrkdPistachio, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for your post and for trying some troubleshooting steps before to posting over here. Since you're still experiencing difficulties even after trying a lot of steps, please try our factory reset procedure following the next steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

I'll be here if further assistance is needed.

Have the same issue. Watch is less then 6 months old. Stopped tracking heart rate two days ago, however will still log swimming, but doesn’t track any other activity. Done all as above including Completing  the factory restore and removed app. Completed full install and update and No change.
