Until nie there is no answer to the fact that the latest update has major issues.
After the update within 5 days my first Ionic emptied the battery and couldnt be recharged any more and only showed 0% on the display.
With warranty i got a replacement.
Which worked fine until the update cane again. This watch died within 3 days with a black screen.
I bought a new one and today comes the update information.
Where is the statement and fix from FITBIT, to the new stable Bios?

Hi @Gangerl, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with the Ionic that's no longer working, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation
Looking forward to your reply.

Good morning,
I followed all known procedures
For Ionic 1:( showing 0% on display)
Cleaning the contacts,
Charging over night with 2 different cables and 2 different charging devices
After restart procedure only a display 0% appeared
Then i could give it back within warranty time.
Ionic 2 (warranty exchange new device)
Run well until the update came. Then it became a total brick after some days.
No response to charging or restarting procedures, no lights on the back, no display.
I returned this Ionic back also. Both were adidas edition.
My actual Ionic 3(standard edition) is brandnew and working.
But has the old Bios.

Same issue here. You are not the only one affected. Everyone has exhausted trying the various non responsive solutions.
Replace the watch or offer something better. Fitbit do the right thing..

Mine actually goes in and out. The screen after the update looks like an old tv without a signal (static looking). The heart rate monitor is about 30 to 40 bpm off compared to a versa 2 without the update. Both matched before the update. No charging issues to date, but battery life has dropped. Half of my purchased clocks won't work anymore either. Unfortunately I'm outside of the warranty coverage.
