Ionic not turning on but with a weird symptom

Hi, my fitbit ionic displays 0% battery. When I plug in the charger, the screen then goes blank with nothing on display (doesn't even show the 0% battery).

 

Once I disconnect it & leave it for a while, it will then display 0% battery again!.

 

I've tried all troubleshooting suggestions (2 button & 3 button reset, holding 2 button/3 button whilst plugging in, cleaned contacts, different outlets etc etc).

 

Is there anything else I can do?.
