Ionic not turning on the first day

Talk about bad luck (hope to be just user error).

I got my fitbit Ionic today and tried to turn it on. I used every posible combination of keys and was not successful. I tried to charge it but I can not even tell if it is charging as there is not even one light that goes on once on the charger. After 2 hours of being plugged in I still am not able to turn on the device. Please help. The videos I watched say that the device is turning on by pressing the left hand side butron or a combination of left hand side button and the bottom right hand button. Thank you

Thanks for your post and for trying some troubleshooting steps before to posting. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
