Watch went blank yesterday after swimming. I have never had this happen before.
I read the post to use the factory reset, nothing happens, no vibrating nor any lights on the back. All connections have been cleaned. Screen is blank.
It is at least 2 years old and was bought at Best Buy. A warranty was not available when it was purchased, with Best Buy saying Fitbit did not offer this anymore through them.

Hi @Kwooe,
Have a search through earlier threads regarding how waterproof the Ionic is-not. Best not to swim or shower with an Ionic or Versa (not sure about the Versa 2?) before the warranty is about to run out. They CLEARLY aren't water proof enough for basic watersports. I won't swim or even shower with my Ionic. I also flooded a Versa swimming. They should have been manufactured to WR100 waterproof standard. They are only certified to WR50. Not enough for swimming and active water sports that these devices are subjected to, unless you are a risk taker, or one of those lucky enough not to have water immersion issues. I'm just not that lucky I'm afraid.
Unfortunately for you there is nothing you can do. Fitbit may offer you a 25% discount on a new Ionic if that suits.
The *official* line is they are OK for swimming.
It's also about marketing.

This just happened to me today. This was the first time I wore it swimming. It was doing fine while I was in the water. It worked and the screen lit up. Now about an hour later, the screen is black and not responding to charge.

Same here. I wore mine tubing three days ago and it went in the water sporadically over a span of an hour. It worked fine and then later that evening had a blank screen and was completely unresponsive. I can see it has lights on and it now actually seems responsive to some things (connects to app, etc) but nothing can be seen on the screen.

I did find my receipt and it has been 2 years. Should I even contact them at this point?
