Ionic notifications not popping up

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a iphone 7 plus. The first day my notifications would make my watch vibrate and pop up on my watch. Now it doesn't seem to do that. I tried restarting my phone and refreshing the app. I also powered off the watch and turned it back on. I ensured the notifications were on, on the app. I also had it on for exercising and sleep on my watch. Any suggestions? Did I turn something off in inadvertently?

Awesome, thanks for your help. I have not had any issues on the second watch and I've had it since the third of the month. All notifications are working properly. I haven't had to turn it on and off or do anything like you said. I am actually very happy with this watch now.

I didn't reboot my phone I took the watch back. I got it on the first and it didn't work on the third. Best Buy couldn't get it to work so they gave me a new one. To turn the watch on and off this might help push and hold the center button and the bottom button at the same time in the watch will turn off. Turn it back on and see if that helps you.

Reboot did not work I ended up returning mine and getting another and so far so good. Although the product itself seems over rated

After 2 weeks or deleting the watch, rebooting, changing the configuration and talking to tech support i’m done.

i boxed mine up today and shipped it back to Fitbit for a return.

I’ll use my Blaze for now that actually works for text and look at Apple Watch or others as the Ionic is not a finished device.

launched too early and software not stable at all.

Good luck to the rest dealing with this.

I have decided to return mine tech support says there is a glitch with Galaxy S8 not working with the fitbit app so i have a pricey step tracker that cannot play music or get my notifications. So I will be getting my money back, after researching that it was compatible with my phone....smh.

I don't believe its a phone issue. The S8 is just a phone running Android and a very popular phone at that.

I'm running iPhone 8+ and its not working either.

There is something wrong with the Fitbit App in my opinion. Two of the most popular phones on Earth are not compatible?? I don't think so.

I returned mine last week as its too expensive to not receive basic text messages.

As I mentioned in another post, I get all notifications on my Samsung S8. No issues.

Agree. Just returned my second one for not receiving notifications. Seems like they have a software issue with the New Ionic. Going back to the blaze

Actually I'm starting to believe this is a Fitbit App and IOS 11 issue for me.

I returned my Ionic and went back to my Blaze. Now the Blaze does not receive text notifications.

It had for the past year received all notifications on the Blaze when I had an iPhone 7 and IOS 10

Now its basically like the Ionic, no text notifications.

I have gone through their troubleshooting guide for notifications a couple of times now.

All settings are correct, app as been deleted and reloaded. Blaze has been factory reset, I have removed from Bluetooth and re-added.. EVERYTHING.

Yes notifications are turned on in the app

Yes notifications are turned on in iOS settings for the app

No do not disturb is not set

Yes notifications turned on the Blaze

Hope Fitbit resolves this as it appears to be an issue for many users across multiple phone platforms.

It is definitely an app problem. It is annoying to have notifications work seamlessly (with about 30 seconds delay) for 1 day straight and the next day running same app version and firmware, doesn't work no matter what sequence of rebooting phone/ionic was used.

Utterly disappointed!

This is my 4th Fitbit, plus ones I bought for my daughter and wife.

It took a year or more for the software on the Surge to be consistently functional. The ionic (with Ifone 7) is certainly beautiful, but sorta buggy.

I don't expect perfection from any computerized consumer device (eg, not medical grade equipment) but my main complaint is the intermittent text and phone messages on the display. Could be hardware but hope it's a software issue that's fixable. I don't care about Starbux or Pandora, just want a really solid fitness device. Fitbit also needs to add the other Running features, such as interval training and Lap running. The vibration for a 1/2 mile on Free running was also useful.

Still waiting for my Dick Tracy 2-way wrist radio
