Ionic notifications not popping up

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a iphone 7 plus. The first day my notifications would make my watch vibrate and pop up on my watch. Now it doesn't seem to do that. I tried restarting my phone and refreshing the app. I also powered off the watch and turned it back on. I ensured the notifications were on, on the app. I also had it on for exercising and sleep on my watch. Any suggestions? Did I turn something off in inadvertently?

The other Fitbit products work very well, but are less ambitious in scope. I've bought them for my family and recommend Charge-2 to my patients as part of their rehabilitation. The big three non-pharmacologic interventions to increase health and reduce risk of Dementia are Diet, Sleep and Exercise. Devices like Fitbit help track these activities with objective data that can improve sleep quality and exercise intensity and quality. I use other home devices in my practice, like Muse and Thought Technology Triple Physiology sensor. I had a Surge for over three years and it worked very well after multiple software upgrades. The Ionic replaced the Surge and I hope Fitbit will get it right with firmware and software upgrades. Dr. MonkeyBrains

Isn't that stupid?  I had the same problem because until now I had Surge and replaced by ionic and all of sudden my notifications stopped even though setting says my notifications are on???  seriously, who are those stupid developers??? or designers???  to make it work, like the op says, I had to swipe left to right to see another special setting to turn it on... SERIOUSLY???

Hey man, you don’t have to be rude because your upset. You build an entire smart watch (software included), oh wait you can’t becuase if you could you wouldn’t be here being rude to people doing their best. All new technology has bugs, get over yourself.

I just opted to return mine, for the price it was not worth even trying to
get it to work. Really wanted to love it and just gave me headaches.

@Lexiryan, can you explain me what is rude, calling stupid design as STUPID! SERIOUSLY!!!  You need two settings to do the same thing?  You call it user intuitive, user friendly?

BTW, my previous response to you just disappeared that said may be you're one of their employees "who do their best".

lastly, I get over it when it is given out for FREE!  Or may be you're right, just return this and buy the Apple Watch!

If you keep crying so much your Apple Watch will get wet.

I do not mind getting my Apple Watch wet as long as it works...  and I know it works!

So is the consensus to return the watch to get a new one?  I received this as a birthday gift.  Assume it was bought off Amazon

Fellow beta testers: for what it's worth, I think my notifications get turned off automatically when I reach low battery.

But maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe I'm turning them off when I swipe Ironic's screen. Who can tell?

I've named it ironic for obvious reasons: where else can you pay $300 for months of frustration? Just try to use ironic for competitive road racing and you'll find notifications are the least of fitbit's challenges.

Yes, I have experienced that too.  Remember, when you swipe from left to right, and then slight touching the Notifications turns off the notification without your intention.  I dealt with it couple of times and now I am very careful when I am on that screen.  I have to go that screen to see my battery, unfortunately!

Now that I am little alert based on the my personal experiences and how the Fitbit designed its OS to put the users in panic mode, I am extremely careful when I am on the various settings screens.... LOL!

I also noticed other glitches like sleep tracking.... it tracks my sleep while I am awake.... and not on the bed.... LOL!

I have an lg g5 and had the same problem. I'd get call notifications but nothing else. My settings were correct, but still didnt work. Before giving up, I switched off notification led on my phone and suddenly notificatiins were going through on the watch.

I am having the same issues. Reboot App, resync, add remove device, reboot watch...very upsetting as I really like the watch. I'm really hoping Fitbit comes with an update soon to fix this issue.

THANK YOU for posting that video. I've been through countless help articles and message threads and this appears to have been my problem.

what video did you see?   I just got off the help chat with them and it seems that after hooking it up to my mom's iPhone the notifications came through,  I could even read the text,   but on my samsung s8   I can't read my messages and only sometimes get the notifications all together
