I have a iphone 7 plus. The first day my notifications would make my watch vibrate and pop up on my watch. Now it doesn't seem to do that. I tried restarting my phone and refreshing the app. I also powered off the watch and turned it back on. I ensured the notifications were on, on the app. I also had it on for exercising and sleep on my watch. Any suggestions? Did I turn something off in inadvertently?

Well, three weeks later and no resolution. Some thoughts:
A) If somebody at fitbit cared then they would made a meaningful comment on this thread by now.
2) They bought Pebble for their what? Good looks? I thought it would be for experience and technology, but here we are still waiting for their smartwatch to get smart.
D) This issue did not happen with Charge 2, so what all is different in what they are doing? Heck, you can't even respond to messages like you can on competing smartwatches.
!) If Apple had any kind of battery life, it would be on my wrist.

Agreed, the one thing you can’t fault the ionic on is charge. Mine goes for days when I don’t use GPS. And why should I use GPS when they don’t use it to measure my distance and pace?

I guess when they do their battery test, everything stopped working and so they were able to achieve a long runtime.
Nothing in this watch justifies its price.
- notifications are unreliable. These are really basic!
- doesn't sync unless manually start sync process, and even so it failed to sync 90% of the time.
- no sync means no meaningful historical data is stored.
- app store is pathetic.
- what happened to the sleep apnea monitoring promise?
- no ownership of problem from fitbit. Never for once did they acknowledge syncing and notification issues.
I hate it so much that I've went back to a $10 iwown i5 that gives me reliable notifications all the time!

Hi, I had exactly the same problem. Having exhausted the troubleshooting list and after speaking to Fitbit about it, my only solution was to perform a factory reset and this did resolve the problem.

I am having this same issue and when I swipe to the right it says Notifications - receive from phone. I have tried turning them on and off in the app and on the watch itself as well, but nothing seems to be turning them back on. Any more ideas?

Many have tried this before, and after a day or 2 it stops again.

If that's the case then they are probably better served dealing directly with Fitbit. I don't have much confidence in it not happening again to my watch; and if it does then I will return the watch as I have no interest in resetting and then reloading the music again on a frequent basis.

I think the issue is that the ionic constantly has issues syncing. Even updating the ionic is a constant struggle. Of course notifications don't go through when the watch is not in sync.

I haven't received any notification in the last two weeks although I activated everything and did more than one reset. (Before that I received notifications for a few days, so at least I know how it feels.) Notifications on the Ionic are so unreliable, I can't trust the watch any more. This is such a sad story with very basic features not working over several months and no one at Fitbit can resolve these issues 😞 After the latest update also didn't address these issues I'm really losing hope, I'll probably have to leave the Fitbit ecosystem 😞

I had the exact same problem drove me crazy every 5 mins id have to do the same thing of enabling the notifications even though they were enabled I have Huawei p10 android 7 this time I enabled it synced it then went into Bluetooth settings and changed the setting to make visable to all Bluetooth devices as an on going thing so it never turns off usually I have it only visable for 4 mins so far notifications have been stable for 3 hours not saying its fixed it but so far so good maybe try that, it is working at the moment it would be ridiculous if that is all we need to do to keep it stable even though its a paired device

open app-->go to account-->select device-->select "clock faces"-->select a different face. notifications should begin working again.

Just because you change the watch face it will not "re-enable" the notifications. Fitbit needs to get this figured out!
