Which one should I choose?

They are fairly different devices from a use case. You need to decide what use case is important to you.

If you are wanting primarily fitness-focused features with some light smartwatch features, the Ionic should fit that need. If you have family/friends in the Fitbit ecosystem and want to compete step-wise and such, the Ionic would be your only choice here.

If you are wanting primarily smartwatch features, and you use an Android-based phone, the Ticwatch would likely be a good choice. (It will work with iOS, but with slightly limited functionality)

I hat the Ticwatch S2 for a very short period of time. It's not a great watch. The battery life is terrible. I was VERY lucky if I made it through a single day. And most of the Wear OS apps I tried were super laggy, if they worked at all.

Based on everything I've heard, the only Wear OS watches that you should consider buying are the ones with the newest Qualcomm chip, which most watches don't have yet. The new Fossil Sport has it, and I think one other watch does.

Also, it really depends on what you're looking for. If you want a smartwatch, get a Wear OS watch. If you want a fitness watch, get an Ionic or Versa (depending on if you care about built-in GPS or not).

Yesterday I created a post asking weather I should get the Ionic or the new Ticwatch S2, I got replies saying Wear OS devices with the Snapdragon 2100 core are mostly too laggy too use. I have now narrowed my 3-month quest for the perfect smartwatch down to 2 watches. The Ionic and the Galaxy Watch. Which should I choose.

I am running iOS and this is what I need:

iMessage & Calendar alerts (Must work well, quick-replies are not important)

A game here and there (Which device supports PUBG something like 2048)

Good for music

Good for swimming and cycling (and all other exercises rly)

Also, I was using my mate's Ionic and navigating menus was quite laggy (he was on Fitbit OS 2.0 tho)

And question: Does galaxy watch have a built-in speaker?

Thanks!

If you're looking for a smartwatch which is little more capable then Samsung will be a better choice ( mostly due to more powerful hardware that supports GLES3+ ). The apps can do little more as well ( Tizen Studio, native and C# apps ). There is a claim that the Galaxy watches support iOS, however, double check that as I've read in the past about issues when it comes to cross both Apple and Samsung ecosystems. If I needed a smartwatch, that would be my choice. ( I didn't buy Ionic thinking of it as a smartwatch and until now, I don't see it as particularly "smart" ). My criteria are similar to yours when it comes to a smartwatch and additionally, it must support Spotify, has better GPU on board ( less laggy, 60fps rendering ), some speaker ( at least beeping ). Since I own the Galaxy phone so my choice would be the Galaxy watch. If you own something from Apple ecosystem, you may also look at Apple watches. It's not far from the truth that each device works better within own ecosystem.

You indicate that quick replies are not important. If you think you will ever want that capability your only option will be an Apple Watch. No device outside Apple's devices has had access to reply to notifications.

Also, if you are looking for a "smart"watch, then the Ionic will likely miss the mark. It is capable at providing some connection to alerts and such, but its primary reason for being is the fitness tracking aspect.
