Did you mean:

Ionic preventing phone from answering.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Lately when I get calls on my phone (Galaxy S10+) on my Google Voice number, I can't make the phone pick it up until I tell the ionic to pick it up. Then the phone says the call's connected but neither party can hear the other.

Is this a known problem? Any fixes?

Are you saying that you can not answer the call through the phone? I'm asking because of the title.

Does this happen when the ionic is not near enough to the phone.

Hi @Chkaloon, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post, seems odd that the notifications feature of your device are working in such way. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this inconvenience and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your device and check if the issue persists. If so, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone

@Rich_Laue Thanks for your support!

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Ionic is on my wrist and phone is in my hand, so it's not a distance thing.

Here is more detail:

1. Call comes in. Phone shows the call and Ionic buzzes

2. I swipe the answer button on the phone. The phone *looks* like it answered, but the status at the top still says "Incoming call" and the Ionic is still buzzing.

3. I swipe the answer button on the Ionic. The phone now shows the timer for the call, so it now answered.

4. I can't hear the caller and they can't hear me.

The good news, kind of, is if the call notification doesn't get to the Ionic, which is about half the time, the call works fine 🙂

Yes, I was wondering if the same thing happens if the ionic and the phone can not communicate with each other when a phone call comes in.

Is the fit it app up to date? Have you tried removing and installing the app? With a reboot of the phone after removing the app?

You answered my question that when the ionic and phone are not communicating things work correctly.

I had this EXACT same thing happen to me.  I could NOT answer my phone and when I would call people back, I could not end the call.  I restarted my Ionic and have not had problems ever since!  I was about ready to take my brand new phone back to Verizon because I thought the phone was defective.  Restarting my  FitBit fixed it!!! Try that and good luck!
