I’m really getting fed up now.  I feel lucky that I’ve not had huge problems with the latest upgrade but the one problem that is still very much ongoing is the watch resets. Today really was the limit. Around 10 resets. And crashed during a ride. Having a real sense of humour failure now.  And yes, I have have done all the usual steps inc several factory resets.  Have emailed support. Please bring on the next update!

Just got my Fitbit Ionic a few weeks ago after being extremely happy with the Charge HR and and Charge HR 2 for the better part of 4 years. Really excited about using it to pair with my Pandora and home music account. Despite the archaic way it downloads music (really - doing it through the desktop is so 2006!), I really liked the style and fit. However, when working out and listening to music on my wireless earbuds I started having the same reset problem. After 4 different resets during my 40 minute workout last night and seeing the myriad of negative comments I decided to return my Ionic through Amazon this morning.

It's too bad - I really like the watch. But for $200+, these issues are too grievous to ignore. In particular when there are a lot of different options on the market. I really hope Fitbit realizes that they're falling behind other competitors when it comes to these issues and can come up with a solution soon. I had a Jawbone UP24 device before Fitbit really took the lead, and it would be a bummer to see Fitbit go the way of Jawbone.

Until this issue is solved by Fitbit I will not buy another of their devices, which based upon the non-existent progress on this issue for 2 years means that my Ionic will be the last of my Fitbit devices and the Charge for the rest of my family.  I just don't think the company really gets it about maintaining customer loyalty in the same way that other companies do.

I've gone through two of these units. The issues were the same so i'm not sure what the deal is. My watches just crashed and wouldn't turn on again. I was sent a refurbished unit and that didn't last.

Heads up to those who stick with this Fitbit product. If they send you a replacement unit they back date the warranty to your original purchase. So if you get a faulty unit you can expect to have to go back and pay $250 for a new watch. They may swing you 25% which you could like get anywhere else.

I've had two bad experiences so i'm out!!! I loved them while they worked but unfortunately Fitbit doesn't stand behind their products.

That's what happened to third (yes, THIRD) Ionic. My Fitbit spent the whole day crashing during an attempt to log a 50-mile bike ride. Support walked me through a "factory" reset, and now the unit won't turn on at all.

Since it's "out of warranty," they want me to pony up for what would be my fourth Ionic in under three years. I told them they'd just lost a customer.

We are now in April 2020 - the issue with the Ionic crashing during exercise still continues nearly 2 years since I started having the issue and reported it to Fitbit.  Moderator stated they were working on solving the problem.  At what point can we expect either a release date for the fix, or actually the acknowledgement that they are not going to bother to fix this or many of the other issues with this product as they are focused on just bringing out new products to attract new customers and do not really care about existing customers at all?

I bought a fitness watch to track my exercise activity - pretty fundamental really, so Fitbit am I going to get an answer?

I just started using the GPS capability this week for outdoor runs as the weather is getting warmer and it crashed 3 times on the 2 runs.

I found this thread and literally cannot believe what I am reading in terms of lack of reaction from Fitbit on this issue! Absolutely shocking service.

It also takes and age to actually connect to GPS, I stood there for nearly 3 minutes waiting for it to connect before I set off.

The last couple of runs/walks I have gone on my Ionic has restarted in the middle of the workout. I start with a full battery. This is kind of annoying and hope there is a way to resolve this.

Still no indication from Fitbit since my last post around when we can expect a fix to a basic capability.  Any feedback Fitbit Moderators?

If Fitbit cannot provide a fix, then there is no need to be an ambassador for them. I am more than willing to start a negative PR campaign railing on them every chance I get. I wouldn't be this upset but this has been going on for 2 years!

This just started happening to my Ionic. It’s about 3 months old. Crashes out during my runs and I lose everything and can’t listen to music. Seeing this thread gave me hope until I saw it’s an ongoing issue that hasn’t been fixed in 2 years.
