I have had my fitbit ionic for a couple of years now. Previously a Garmin. Firstly the HR is way off; I have compared it to a pulse oximeter (very accurate) and its usually 20bpm or more out. Then there is distance; I have done a 500m walked and counted steps to set the stride length. My treadmill shows my runs at 6.5kms and the fitbit shows 5km... I would assume the treadmill is more accurate in this area, they are both way off with HR. The most frustrating thing is when I am walking, like today, and the watch stops at 0.62kms and does to restart (it is set to auto pause) and misses the other 3.5km of my walk.
Not sure what to do or say about this. The sporty aspect keeps me locked in as an Apple watch wouldn't give me that.

@Rcarter68 Welcome to the Community. I appreciate the details mentioned, I'll be happy to help you with this.
I would like you to confirm you've followed these tips to improve your heart rate readings. Regarding your distance, please check this article about Fitbit devices' accuracy.
In regards to your watch not tracking your activity complete, could you confirm if your Ionic is crashing while you're tracking your walk activity? Is it happening only with this activity?
Keep me posted. I'll be around if you need further assistance.
