Has anyone else had heart rate monitor issues? Mine has been nearly doubling my actual heart rate for about a week and I cannot figure out a correction. Even the factory reset did nothing to fix it

@ScottD92 A warm welcome to the Community. Thanks for getting in touch about this.
I appreciate the factory reset done prior to posting. As with all heart-rate tracking technology, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, device location on your arm, and type of movement.
For a more accurate heart-rate reading:
Also, you may want to check the factors that will affect your heart-rate reading on your Fitbit device here.
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

I and other users noticed this phenomenon when exercising. It was an acknowledged issue years ago, but was never addressed by Fitbit. They might have replaced the units still under warranty, but they did nothing more to respond to this issue as far as I know.

There are other threads on this topic, but I'm guessing that you can't post to them anymore because they have been marked "answered". Which is a joke because you will see multiple posts of people who have tried everything including multiple calls to customer support, but never had a tracker with a properly functioning heart rate monitor. The crazy thing is that customer service acknowledged that it was an issue they were aware of but the company still stonewalled everybody that was "out of warranty". They knowingly sold a product that didn't work and left people holding the bag.

Starting using my wife's as she upgraded to the Sense. she's had it about three years with very few issues. ive been using it for about a month. was working fine up until the 12th March. then I noticed it wasn't tracking my sleep stages and only giving me the simplified version "because it was unable to accurately detect my HR during the night". Tried turning HR on and off, syncing each time and restarting the watch. I've factory reset it multiple times. sometimes it will track my HR all day and then at night it craps out. its also wildly inaccurate now. 130 BPM walking up the stairs. 95 laying down (prior to is going nuts i had a typical resting HR 60) i have noticed that the Green LEDs on the back are hardly illuminated now. im wondering if a firmware update has bricked it, or if its just died and its time to throw it
