Help!  I hAve  contacted Fitbit and am waiting a response.

I put my Fitbit ionic on charge - got a shower and when I got back the screen was cracked.  I gave not misused/dropped/damaged it in anyway at all.  As most of us Fitbit users are, I am very precious about it and take extremely good care of it.  Any way, to cut a long story short, Fitbit response was “
Based on the warranty policy that can be found here https://www.fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty , it states that this Limited Product Policy does not apply to damage of defects caused by (a) use with non-Fitbit products; (b) accident abuse, misuse, or other external causes. ”

please can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?  I am seriously struggling without being able to see the screen, my step count is terrible!

if anyone is able to give me assistance, offer me advice or generally suggest how I go about explaining again to Fitbit (when they reply) i would be most grateful.

thank you

@SunsetRunner It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit device got damaged. I'm also sorry to hear that it's not covered by the warranty.

I totally understand how you feel about this and we appreciate your feedback and comments.

Can you please explain why it isn’t covered in warranty? I only got it in April!  The weather has been sweltering here so I can only assume it’s due to weather - nothing I have done

Where did you buy it?

Warranty is, for all intents and purposes, void if you don't buy it from an approved seller.

I found it odd but did a bit of research and found a lot of wearable tech companies have a similar clause in their warranties.

If you brought from a seller via Amazon then it would be covered however if you buy from an ebay shop it's not. My thought is why sell to non approved sellers in the first place?

Using non approved things such as fast charge bricks or aftermarket cables also voids the warranty.

The screen actually can be repaired easily but  not many places offers this, as genuine parts are tricky to find.

If your warranty is void then it could be a way to go to get it working again.

it is from Fitbit, what I’ve been told today is “the screen is not covered under warranty”. I’m finding this absurd- I’m left with a defective Fitbit because I put it on charge in hot weather!  I feel this is absolutely disgraceful service and am so disappointed with Fitbit!  And so upset as I have been a loyal customer for many many years.  You cannot purchase a New Ionic as they are not being made any longer and I really wasn’t expecting to have to buy another device in the same year…
