The last few times I have checked online for screen protectors they all had lousy reviews so I decided to be patient and trust the gorilla glass (had this on my Windows Band and the screen outlasted the strap with not a mark to be seen).
But today my ionic has got two scratches on the screen. Not a clue how as I have not been aware of clonking it against anything.
So annoyed that such an expensive piece of kit hasn't even survived being worn for 3 weeks without getting scratched. (happened in the last hour or so whilst tootling around the house).
I assume there is no way I can do anything about it is there?

I'm still waiting to hear back from Fitbit on this one. 😞

Interesting that they used the term scratch proof in some of their literature. As others have said, I would definitely think you've got a case against them.
Some of the information on the website is very poor/misleading. On the UK site they stated Fitbit pay as being a feature, there was no disclaimer saying it was coming soon and not currently available. Actually upon checking the site just now this still seems to be the case.

Someone in marketing is gonna get a slapped wrist for literal inconsistencies. Their own T&C's will be updated shortly to say 'specifications may be subject to change' to cover this (if they don't already) scratch proof will be scratch resistant and waterproof will be water resistant.
To be fair Corning's own info on GG3 says "enhanced scratch resistance, reduced scratch visibility and better retained strength once a scratch does occur" over previous generations of Gorilla Glass, so fitbit will just refer to that and lay the 'proof' part to rest.
Everything these days is scripted to be flexible and in permanent flux but I still think Fitbit's replacement policy is good, as I've had replacements in the past, and I expect 6 months down the line we won't have to send our failed Ionics back to them for scrutiny. These days when you buy the latest hardware you do appear to be a beta tester in some aspects.

Scratched or cracked my screen today. Thinking, ok I’ll just get a new glass and find a YouTube video.
After reading all the points I can’t believe You can’t get replacement parts.
Apple, Samsung, you can fix everything nowadays....... except a Fitbit!!!!!

Dealing with the same crap with mine, and customer service was little to no help. There has to be some legal implications to offer no repair options what so ever for a product, I mean ok its scratched and not covered. What do I do now? Seems like crappy business.

I had my ionic all of a few weeks and it cracked so bad you can't read anything on the screen. It happened while sitting at my desk typing on the computer during a 12 hour shift. I just looked down and there it was screen completely screwed..I was told absolutely nothing they could do but a 40% off coupon to replace it. Nice to know they willy nilly decide what can and can't be done..this was my 4th fitbit device I once had my blaze replaced when a button fell off under warranty but that's it. I will absolutely not be purchasing again after this. No way a brand new device screen should crack beyond oblivion sitting at a desk job with no real impact unless there is a defect. I have had my current cell phone for 4 years and it's gorilla glass and no screen protector on and not a single scratch or crack in 4 years. It gets dropped and has things dropped on it all the time.
