Ionic screen stuck on Fitbit logo and now won't turn on

After charging this morning, my Ionic will not move off of the Fitbit Logo screen.  I have tried all of the possible reboots, restarts, etc. and it still won't come off of that screen.  After pushing all three buttons, the logo disappeared and I released the lower button immediately.  Two seconds later, the Fitbit Logo screen was back up and nothing had changed.

I did the hard reset and the Fitbit Logo finally disappeared but now the Ionic is doing nothing.  I have pushed and held all of the buttons for over 10 secs and the watch is just dead.  Is there something that I am doing wrong?

After allowing the Fitbit to charge all night, it was still dead this morning and will not turn on.  It seems like my last Fitbit died after only two years in use as well. Is this a common occurrence?  I would still like to save this one if it is possible.
