Ionic severe battery drain (30% per hour)

Hey All,

I posted this over at the Fitbit community and figured I should post it here, too. Hope someone can help me with a recent issue I'm having.

Had Fitbit since Christmas and I could go several days without charging, even after running each day and using GPS. I updated to the latest OS last week sometime and everything was great. Then all of a sudden, I started losing battery life at a rate of 25% per hour. For example, last night, before bed, I charged it to 100% and by the time I woke up the watch was dead while not doing anything other than sleeping.

Things I've done to troubleshoot.

-Restarted multiple times.

-Updated iOS.

-Restarted Phone.

-Unchecked All Day sync.

I have not done a factory reset. If I do that, and I update to the latest firmware, will the issue still remain?

I've read several threads about this issue and have not come across a solution, not have I seen anyone who is suffering battery drain at the rate I'm experiencing it.

Any solutions? Something I missed?

Nothing you've missed.  It's probably software related.  If your Ionic was new at Christmas and if you brought it from an authorised seller, then it will still be under warranty.

Contact support and go through their steps, probably what you've already done multiple times, then they will refer you to the team that handle returns.

Good luck and long patience required.

it is without a doubt firmware related.my ionic before the recent update 27.72.1.15 ;when 100% charged would last me 3 1/2 days now after the update it's dead within 6 hrs ! i feel like fitbit sends these faulty firmware updates to brick our perfectly good working expensive watches so they can then point us over to the "next great watch" ala what apple got caught doing with there phone "updates".

Im having the same issue too, also my screen has become somewhat unresponsive, certain areas of the screen will work then don't, I've tried the soft reset and factory reset and still the same..

I sent an email about the issue to the support team, the screen seems responsive today but still the same issue with the battery, i noticed on the fitbit app that its giving varied battery percentage, on my watch its currently at 73%, it was at 100% from 7am, on the app in when you click on the ionic watch in the settings it says full and when i sync the watch to the app the battery bar at the top right shows 83%, seems to me like its definitely a software issue, i can send screenshots if need be to show.
