Ionic showing the Fitbit logo

Ok, I gave up trying to get the Ionic to play ball with my Pixel 3 (unreliable notifications and constant sync issues) but decided to keep it just as a watch in the hope a future firmware update might sort things out.

Unfortunately I've now found that the Ionic won't keep the correct time. It actually loses a few minutes every hour bizarrely. Just as an old quartz watch would when outs battery needed replacement. If I manage to sync it, the time is then corrected but won't keep the correct time.

Decided to do a factory reset. I should mention that this is something I am very well versed in... This time however the reset failed and I am now stuck with a flashing fitbit logo. Continued attempts to factory reset have no effect.

Am I now forced to wait till the battery goes flat and hope I can do something at that point?

To clarify,I just want to get the Ionic working as a plain watch now but it won't keep proper time and is now stuck in some sort of reboot loop.

Any ideas?

It's great to see you around @Finnboy. Thanks for the details mentioned.

I appreciate the troubleshooting tried and the time you took to share every detail about it. After you performed the factory reset, it got unpaired from your account and this is why it's showing you the Fitbit logo, please try this set up procedure. If you're unable to set it up then try the steps mentioned in this article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes.

Desperately disappointed with the Ionic. By sheer luck I got it out of the boot loop once. No idea how, just spent hours continually trying different things whilst say sat down watching tv.

Finally got out of reboot and updated. It still wouldn't keep the correct time. That really isn't much to ask of a watch... It lost about 2 hours over a 6 hour period.

Notifications still not working properly etc... Then totally refused to sync. So factory reset yet again. reinstall of software. Again. Reinstall fitbit on mobile. You all know the drill.

Now? Stuck in a reboot loop once again.

I've spent hours and hours trying to get the Ioionic to function with some semblance of reliability but I'm done to to be honest.

I've just never had this amount of problems with a smart watch before.

I can live with a few teething problems but this is turning into a full time job and I can't even get it to display the correct time. It's almost laughable.

My first fitbit product and I so,so wanted to like it.

Going to press for a refund from the retailer at this point.

I thank the mods for their assistance though. I may well return to fitbit once it's its products mature as their spec is exactly what I want in a tracker/ smart watch.
